My Review
It’s Pat Pirard’s 35th birthday and she receives the worse birthday gift ever - she’s fired from her job as a law librarian. It doesn’t help to know that it wasn’t her fault. She is let go for budgetary reasons. The bottom line is she has no job, but she has a sunburst-yellow Mercedes, a dalmatian named Dot and a cat named Wimsey.
Her best friend, Syda, gives her a glass forming class as a birthday gift. It’s run by Garryn Monteith who is an expert in the field. Pat and Syda take the class together, but the excitement isn’t in the glass. Someone is murdered. As a law librarian, research is Pat’s expertise which is why she is hired by the prime suspect’s attorney. He desperately needs her to find evidence to clear his client’s name.
Enlisting the help of Syda, Pat delves into the mystery. She’s determined to find out who the real killer is and bring him or her to justice.
This is a solid start to the PIP Inc Mystery series. Pat Pirard is a strong character who is determined and shows much strength throughout the book. She is not one to back down. She’s surrounded by a colorful supporting cast of characters.
The storyline is intriguing and fast-pace. There were several possible culprits. I kept changing my mind all the way through the book. I was left guessing until the end. Besides the mystery, there is some romance in Pat’s future as well.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series and seeing what’s next in store for Pat Pirard.

Thank you for having me on your blog and for your review. I much prefer cats to stars for ratings.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun start to the series and I like that there's a dog sidekick!
