This week's question:
Yesterday, April 15th, was Tax Day here in the U.S., which means lots of lucky people will get refunds of over-paid taxes.
Whether you’re one of them or not, what would you spend an unexpected windfall on? Say … $50? How about $500?
(And, this is a reading meme, so by rights the answer should be book-related, but hey, feel free to go wild and splurge on anything you like.)
Let's see...if it was $50...definitely on books. I don't know which ones, whichever happen to be on my wishlist. If it were $500, I think I might buy myself a Kindle. I've heard so many people talking about it. I have an old ereader that I got many years ago and have never really gotten into reading ebooks (I still prefer print), but if I had the extra money to get a Kindle, I think I'd give it a try. Or possibly I'd put it towards a laptop. I always think one of those would be nice when I go away on vacation, but then again, it's always nice to get away from the computer and just be alone with hubby sometimes :) So, most likely a Kindle.

Hmm, a kindle is a nice option.

I've heard that the Kindle "reads" the book to you, though is that like the old S.A.M. or a real voice... or like those new computerized voices that only once in a while sound like the machines are taking over.
ReplyDeleteHey, great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteI would prefer to spend the money on actual books. I don't really like the idea of lying on the beach with a kindle/e-reader rather than a book. :-)
ReplyDeleteA Kindle is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would like a Kindle, but a friend has one and loves it!
ReplyDeleteThe kindle yet again. Wow!

Definitely go with the Kindle. All you lucky Americans getting money back from your taxes. So unheard of over here!
ReplyDeleteWould so love a kindle :D
