Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about reading non-fiction…
Do you read non-fiction regularly? Do you read it in a different way or place than you read fiction? (question courtesy of Diane)
My answer...No, I don't really read much non-fiction. I read some, but it's usually celebrity autobiographies or biographies. Sometimes I'll come across a topic that will interest me and I'll read them. I'm not against them, it's just that my interest lies more in the escapism of fiction.

LOL, my thoughts exactly!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to be good this year and read more non fiction - do I get a brownie point for trying!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading memoirs and sometimes books with political or social topics, but fiction is my escape and my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI agree -- nothing beats fiction if your goal is to escape! And I love your Monday cat -- captures too often how I feel on Monday mornings!
ReplyDeletehonestly, to a degree, most non-fiction seems like work to me, rather than pure pleasure.
ReplyDeleteLOL, love the grumpy kitten!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love to read non-fiction, but that's because I write romantic fiction...
I read New Age, herbal manuals and Science books as well as Historical facts...I research religions and craft books on writing...I like everything!
I think it's important for a writer to know as much as possible to bring a realness to her books.

I'm feeling like the kitten this evening after a long day! Don't read much NF either.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I have to be really, really interested in the topic or it will bore me to tears. Cute kitty pic!
