The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hi Everyone!
How was your first week of 2022? For me, it was like any other week. I started my reading this year with some really good books. I finished three of them. So, I'm off to a good start.
I've still been able to make time to watch my TV shows. This week 911: Lonestar, This Is Us, New Amsterdam, NCIS, The Blacklist and Chicago MED, Fire, and PD all returned. They were all good. I still have to watch Blue Bloods. I hear that Covid has once again stopped production for many TV shows. So, I don't know for how long we'll have new episodes airing.
So sad to hear about the passing of Sidney Poitier. Such a wonderful actor. An amazing talent. The song "To Sir, With Love" keeps going through my head.
Not too much going on here. I'm lucky to live in a place that has nice weather, for the most part, year 'round. So, I'm still walking, although I haven't picked out a new audio book to listen to. I'm probably going to continue with the cozy mystery camping series. It's fun.
I'm going to try a personal reading project. I got the idea from Katherine at I Wish I Lived In a Library. I have so many unfinished series books and I really want to complete at least one this year. So, I'm going to go through my list and try to finish all the books in one series. I'm thinking of finishing the Cat in the Stacks cozy mystery series by Miranda James. I love it and have wanted to continue it for so long. I really have to organize my reading a little better.
I hope you all have a great week. Stay warm and stay safe!

I'm currently reading...
I've been watching a lot more shows and not so much reading. I want to read more cozies this year too- I used to read a few a year and lately I've been slacking. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad the weather has been nice. We've gotten cold here and there's snow- oh yay!
Have a nice week!
I am glad your reading so far this year got off to a good start! I feel like mine did too. I am glad to see 911 Lonestar back. New Amsterdam has one in an interesting direction, hasn't it?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your series reading project! I know I won't be able to catch up in all the ones I follow in just a year, but hopefully I can manage some. I hope you enjoy your current and upcoming reads! Have a good week.
I love the reading one full series idea, I might join in as well. I am getting back to blogging after a long break, hope it sticks! I hope your week ahead is interesting and good, too.

That's good that you've finished three books already. My mum and I were only talking about Sidney Poitier a few days before we heard he'd passed away. So sad.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite cold and frosty here in England. I am dreaming of a tropical get-away but not sure when that will be possible.
Have a good week and enjoy your new books.
I feel lucky to have good weather here, too. I need to get back to walking again. Maybe this week...
ReplyDeleteI get so many of my best ideas from other bloggers. I like your idea of finishing a series. I hope that works out well for you!
If I start with a series, I am normally very good with finishing it. But a personal reading project always seems like a good idea for me!
ReplyDeleteI have also started walking more this year (so far) and yes, I listen to audiobooks while doing it. Let's see if I can keep it up!
Have a good week and enjoy the lovely weather. I know I do!

Glad your reading year started off good. I am continuing to walk daily regardless of the weather. It's a great habit to have.
ReplyDeleteThe personal reading project sounds great. I don't like to plan my reading too much, but sometimes a little structure is good.
Have a great week!
My library finally got the DVDs of New Amsterdam, so I'm on the list. Looking forward to it! Good Rich People looks like an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteI like the cover of Twist and Shout Murder. I want to finish some of the series I have started as well. I think I wrote down 2-3, if I finish them, then I will add in more. Have a great week! https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2022/01/stacking-shelves-5sunday-post-2.html
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that Oy Vey Maria title! I love cozy titles! This past week was crazy busy for me. I had the same song going through my mind when I heard about Sidney Poitier too. I like your finishing a series idea. I should try to do that as well. Although it does kind of go along with some of my challenges this year. Have a great week!

Great to hear your new year has got off to a good start with books and I hope you will be able to finish off at least one of your ongoing series this year. 🤞🙂
ReplyDeleteGlad your off to a good year in reading and that you have good weather. The weather where I lived is too unpredictable. It warm one day and freezing the next.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your series this year!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are off to a good year of reading. I watch most of those shows too and I am happy they are back. XO
ReplyDelete2022 seems to be starting with great books. enjoy!

It's good to work through a series and the one you are thinking of sounds good. Miranda James is good.
ReplyDeleteThere's been a lot of celebrity deaths lately. I'm still upset at the passing of Betty White.

I have to wait til my husband goes back to work before I can catch up with the recent seasons, he ‘owns’ the TV while he is home.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
Doggone Deadly's cover reminds me of my bichon, Harvey, who left us many years ago, but I still miss him. Happy reading week!
ReplyDeleteI loved My Darling Husband, and your cozies look so good, too.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping production on our shows doesn't stop, but it sounds like they will for a bit.
Enjoy your walks and your reading!
