Booking Through Thursday

This week's question...

We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet.

What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet?

My answer...

Great question! I have a bunch of them, but the first thing that comes to mind is the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr. I've heard great things about it and I have the entire series in my TBR waiting for me. I just haven't gotten around to reading them yet. People are always raving about these books. I do have the first book slated for one of my reading challenges and I hope that steers me in the right direction - once I read the first, then I'm sure I'll want to get right to the next ones.

  1. My reading is dictated by my mood. So although there are 'good ' reading lists I tend to suit myself, mine is here, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

    ps. love kitty!

  2. I'm a moody reader, too. I read what I like, when I want to (although I am sometimes dictated to by review deadlines).

  3. Yvonne, I think you will like the Virgin River series. I won VR Christmas and thought, eh, chick lit and chucked it on a shelf. One day just looking for some real light brain candy, picked it up and was so surprised. I loved it! Definitely going to read more of the series.
My "list" is so long I would have to live forever to read everything on there and of course I keep adding to it. Lol! Happy reading

  4. Yes, I've been hearing a lot about this series, too. I've got a library request in for the first book in the series to see if I'll like it. They do sound interesting.

  9. I've got so many but when I reflect upon the type of writing style that appeals me the most, I narrow it down to a short list.

At first I couldn't make of the question because it really depends on what best is. I'm reading a very popular book that I'm probably the last person on earth to read it. Gone with the Wind. :)

  10. I guess that's the good thing about reading challenges Yvonne - they offer one a 'vehicle' for which one can get to the books one needs to.

  12. My first thought when I saw this question was to reply, "My entire TBR collection, of course!" I'm sure the questioner though is looking for something a little more specific. :-) I haven't read anything by Robyn Carr, but I hear the books are great. I hope you do get a chance to start on the series.
