This week's topic...
One of my favorite sci-fi authors (Sharon Lee) has declared June 23rd Fantasy and Science Fiction Writers Day.
As she puts it:
So! In my Official Capacity as a writer of science fiction and fantasy, I hereby proclaim June 23 Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Day! A day of celebration and wonder! A day for all of us readers of science fiction and fantasy to reach out and say thank you to our favorite writers. A day, perhaps, to blog about our favorite sf/f writers. A day to reflect upon how written science fiction and fantasy has changed your life.
So … what might you do on the 23rd to celebrate? Do you even read fantasy/sci-fi? Why? Why not?
My answer:
I don't read much fantasy and science fiction, but I do read it. Mainly I read Star Trek novels, some paranormal, vampires, time travel. I try to mix everything up a bit. I doubt I'll be doing any celebration on the 23rd. Just reading like usual... whatever is next on my schedule.

How funny is that photo. I am not a big fan of science fiction, but do love the fantasy realm. Be it faeries, vamps and also love the paranormal world.
ReplyDeleteI don't read much sci-fi/fantasy, but I love this photo!
ReplyDeleteWe need to make the 23rd both Science Fiction day and a national holiday!
ReplyDeleteThis would be the perfect BTT question for me, but no, have some reviews coming up
ReplyDeleteYou sure have the best cat photos
I don't read any Sci-Fi or Fantasy, except for The Chronicles of Narnia books. I used to like to watch Star Trek: The Next Generation on TV but I've never read one of the books. I just don't get into the paranormal/vampire/time travel thing.
ReplyDeleteMost of the fantasy I read is paranormal -- Charlaine Harris, Richelle Mead, etc...
ReplyDeleteAwesome LOLcat. :-) I don't read much scifi either :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm all about Star Trek. Here is mine
ReplyDeleteI don't read as much sci-fi as I used to, and I haven't read any of the newer "Star Trek" novels - just the old collections of TV show adaptations. I should get myself up to speed.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! That is one very relaxed kitteh.
I am a crazy sci-fi fan. I am reading Star Trek by Alan Dean Foster as we speak. It's sitting next to the keyboard nice and handy. jessica(at)fan(dot)com
ReplyDeleteLove that cat. I am cat-sitting at the moment, and the little guy is sprawled across my arms as I type! It seems as though most are into fantasy, and not so much of the sci-fi. I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter etc but there are so many authors to choose from it is hard to know what to read next.
ReplyDeleteI place sci fi alongside other genres, too. Enjoy reading it now and again.
ReplyDeleteLet Slip the Dogs of Love, by Eugene Kachmarsky. check it out. if you like sci-fi combined with magic realism, psychological thriller and crime drama, peppered with daring social commentary, you won't be sorry you read this book. google the title for more info.
ReplyDeleteawww cute cat!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy sci-fi when I have time to read it. I like the Start Trek books.
