Sunday Salon - My Nook and other things...

I'm now a proud owner of a Barnes and Noble Nook ebook reader and I'm loving it! I already have some books that I put on it. I'm anxious to start reading on it, but first I have to finish the book I'm reading now.

The book I'm reading now is Double Play by Jill Shalvis. It's a romance taking place in the baseball world. I wanted to get in the mood for my favorite sport which will be starting soon. I only finished one book this week. Trust Me by Brenda Novak and loved it. Romantic suspense seems to be my favorite genre lately.

On a personal note, we had a huge rain and wind storm yesterday and a huge tree was uprooted and fell on my roof! Naturally I was home alone and my husband was working, so naturally I panicked. My husband came home and it was too late (and too wet and windy) to get the tree off the roof until today. We have a huge leak in our living room windows. So now we have to get the roof and the leak fixed. What a pain, but these things rarely happen to us. We're usually luckier than this.

So, how was your week...............

  1. Congrats on the nook!
I have Double Play on my Kindle and hope to read it in the next couple of weeks - before the regular season begins (we're big baseball fans at my house too). I'll have to look for Trust Me - I haven't read anything by Brenda Novak. I'm reading Can't Stand The Heat by Louisa Edwards. So far it's good. Next I hope to read a historical (I have a lot on the Kindle).
Sorry about the weather stuff. Hope the damage isn't as bad as you think. Have a good week.

  2. Oh my a tree! I am glad that you are okay though. What a scary thing to happen.

  3. Yikes on the tree! I hope everything gets fixed.

    Nook :D Lucky you

  4. Congrats on your new NOOK, and so sorry about the tree and related damage....UGH

  5. Hooray for your Nook! Bummer about the tree. I hope the roof and leaf aren't too bad to fix.

  6. awww...cute cat.
yes, we had lots of rain here too. sorry to hear about your roof!

  7. You must have been scared out of your wits when the tree landed. I hope everything gets sorted soon.
