It's that simple.
This week I'm reading...
From page 56 on my Nook...
Each short, sudden drop of the elevator was accompanied by a loud grinding of gears, causing me to wonder if the elevator's mechanical components had received the same restorative attention.
I gripped onto the side railing as the elevator paused at the first floor. The metal doors slid open to reveal an elderly man in an expensive-looking suit and highly polished shoes.
Happy Friday
ReplyDeleteConsidering she 'gripped' the side railing, I'm going to assume the cat isn't the protagonist in this book! I like the writing style though, it's descriptive without overloading me with details! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

Cute cover and I hope the elevator also received the restorative treatment! I'm always a little bit nervous in elevators.
ReplyDeleteGreat excerpt! Love that cover, too....thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: “AND THEN I FOUND YOU”
If there is a cat on the cover I will pick it up. My Post
ReplyDeleteBeing in an elevator that begins to do funny things is a frightening experience . . .

Yikes! I'd hate to be in an elevator that drops suddenly. Grinding gears would freak me out too. I'd dash past the man in the nice suit and jump out immediately.

I love the cover, and your "56" makes me wonder what will happen next.
ReplyDeleteGreat cover and excerpt! I wonder what is going to happen next. Thanks for the visit to my blog.
ReplyDeleteIf cats really do have 9 lives, I know a cat that will outlive us all! :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, can't fix the elevator, but at least sharp dressed people live there and may possibly die in the elevator. ;-)
PS - Happy Weekend!
