First Chapter Tuesdays/Teaser Tuesdays - August 25th
Labels:

Teaser Tuesdays
Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?
If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week I'm featuring the first book in a series that I've been dying to read. Now I just need the time to read it!
First Chapter...
"Vic," Josh said, "I don't think you have any choice. You have to get rid of him."
I stared at the phone in disbelief. "Absolutely not," I said. "It's too drastic. I won't even consider it."
"Why not? You complain about him enough. And think about what you could do with him out of the way. You could start over - a new name, a new guy. Maybe even a younger guy."
Teaser...
"It's so good to see you again, Lori. I could use some moral support around here."
So, what do you think? Would you keep reading?

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I want to know why they need moral support now. Hope you are enjoying it. Here's my post http://www.sharonsbooknook.com/2015/08/25/teaser-tuesday-naked/
ReplyDeleteI like the cover on this book. Cheerful checked tablecloths. And I'm thinking that 'getting rid' of someone might mean replacing, not killing. LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds good. I like the cover and title. The teaser on my adult blog comes from Broken Play by Samantha Kane. This one was kinky and steamy. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAah if only we had unlimited time, imagine all the books we could read! But then I guess the little time we have is more precious just for that reason! These foodie crime novels always have such great titles and the beginning does pull me in, so I'd keep reading! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great week!

The "younger" part seems like a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI love that cover...and it makes me hungry! The excerpts drew me in, too. Thanks for sharing and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: “ONE MOMENT, ONE MORNING”
This sounds like it will be good, Yvonne (and it's making me hungry). I'm already curious.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun cozy mystery. I'm wondering exactly what they mean by "get rid of him" in the opening. Are they talking about murder or maybe firing an employee? I'd keep reading to find out.
ReplyDeleteMy Tuesday post features SAMUEL & SOPHIA.
Great start to a murder mystery! Who wouldn't keep reading after that opener? I'm curious to know who the caller is talking about.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks like fun. I'd keep reading!
ReplyDeleteI love series mysteries! I'll have to remember to check back and see how you like this one, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteMine this week is the 10th Carlotta Carlyle mystery:

Well, curious why she feels like she needs moral support? What's her crisis?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun one.
