Sunday/Monday Posts - August 16th and 17th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

The heat and humidity are back.  It's a great time for me to catch up on reading with the a/c going :)  I'm so not a humidity person - LOL

I'm doing well with catching up on my reading or at least I'm trying.  I'm pretty much caught up with my TV except for a couple of episodes from this week.  It's better than when I had 50 shows on my DVR to watch a few weeks ago.  This is much more doable :)

I finished two reading challenges.  I have a couple more left to do before the end of the year.  I'll probably finish a couple more.  I might not be able to complete the Alphabet Soup and Where Are You Reading challenges but I'm still participating.  I always enjoy them even though I never completed either one.

Other than that I'm just reading and enjoying what's left of the summer.  Can you believe it's almost Fall?  Although I do love Fall, time is just going way too fast.

So what have you been up to?  Read anything good?  See any good TV shows or movies?

Yvonne

  1. Sounds like you had a nice week and got lots of reading in! Always good. I'm definitely not a humidity person either. It's crazy that it's almost fall, but it IS my favorite season, so that's nice. :)

  2. My Tivo is full to bursting. I'm hoping with the Tornado in school and life settling down a little bit I'll be able to catch up some. I'm not holding out too much hope though. We have a few months before fall starts but I am looking forward to sweaters and scarves! Have a great week!

  3. Yes, the heat and humidity are back. My yard is pretty shady, so in the evenings its nice to sit out and read or crochet. Happy reading, I like the cover on Code Grey.

  5. I love reading inside, with the AC on, although my summer bills always skyrocket. Even more so with my house guests, as my son has to have the AC on all night, very cold. He grew up in hot California, but he's been in Europe since the 1990s, and only ever came home to visit in the winter and spring. He was stunned by the heat. LOL

I love the look of your books...enjoy! And I love fall, too, although knowing that Christmas is not far behind, I wish it would slow down just a bit...I'm not ready.

    Here's MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  6. I don't enjoy humidity but our very high temps in So Cal (even though it's a dry heat, lol) is hard to bear for months on end but then Fall here is pretty nice.
I didn't do much reading lately, but what I did was based on the settings, and ones that I don't frequent to make it more intriguing.
    Enjoy reading this week!

  10. I'm with you on the heat, we're absolutely cooking today! So muggy... and I'm not ready for summer to be over, in spite of the heat- although I do love fall! I should do the Where Are You reading that one sounds fun...

  11. I'm reading Be My Banshee right now. I love these two and will read anything they write. It's been brutal with heat and humidity this week but we got a break this weekend. Only in the 80s and some much needed rain.

  12. I actually don't have that much recorded at the moment but we seem to be in a ratings lull so there isn't much on. (I don't have cable - or our equivalent here in Australia and haven't yet jumped onto the Netflix bandwagon) so it's a good thing I have a stack of books! :-)

  16. I've been binge watching TV since the last month. Right now, I'm on Arrow (not bad), Walking dead (watching with Boyfriend) and Poldark - I love those British historicals with spectacular landscapes :) Enjoy your week, Be my banshee looks fun !
