In 1976, Cassandra Taylor is paying her dues as a session musician when she meets rockstar Jeff Kingston. She is plunged into the glamourous rock-n-roll world until the music industry demons infiltrate their relationship and Cass is reduced to being a casualty of his stardom. Years later, with a successful songwriting career of her own, Cass finds Jeff is back, asking for a second chance. On the verge of finally having the career and relationship she’s always wanted, the music industry intervenes again, forcing Cass to confront her doubts and Jeff’s sincerity. She must decide to follow her heart or lose the only man who’s ever been able to harmonize with her beyond the music.

What they're saying about Flipping the "Bennett quickly lures readers into the story with the first meeting between Jeff and Cass, whose attraction is palpable from the start, and brings the intensity of rock and roll culture to life through vivid depictions of the personality clashes between musicians, the stress that accompanies recording an album, and the toll that touring takes on band members and their significant others."

About the Author

As an ardent music enthusiast and writer, Bennett has a passion for uncovering hidden stories of musicians, particularly those hailing from California in the 1970s Laurel Canyon period and beyond.

Bennett was encouraged by exceptional teachers who recognized her creative potential. They urged her to explore the depths of her imagination and delve into the intricacies of the written word. She continued her love for writing and earned a degree in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia.

Bennett is the author of ‘Letting Go’ and ‘Expecting to Fly,’ and her latest release, ‘Flipping the Record,’ out in September 2023. She continues to work on several projects that are eagerly vying to become her next novel. Her dedication to her craft and her love for music continue to fuel her creative spirit.
