But authority is a funny thing.  Even though Jason was young enough to be my son, he was the one with the clout.  A whisper to the cops from him would more quickly cast suspicion on me than vice versa, I knew.

  4. Ugh, it's awful when people 'throw their weight around' for a *ahem* less-than-ethical reason.

    At my last out-of-the-home job, one of my co-workers was promoted to "senior assistant". She was young enough to be my daughter. I was a little put out that I had been 'passed over' but she was pretty cool. Some of our co-workers gave her a horrible time, though.
