Sunday/Monday Posts - October 4th and 5th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

What miserable weather we are having this weekend!  It's wet, cold, and raw out there.  However, I'm very thankful that Hurricane Joaquin will most likely pass us by.  It's the perfect weather to just stay inside and read and watch TV.  That's exactly what I'm doing :)

I just started reading one of my favorite cozy mystery series - Faux Paw by Sofie Kelly.  It's from her "A Magical Cat" mystery series.

I've been catching up on TV.  I tried two new shows Code Black and Blood & Oil.  I enjoyed both of them.  Have any of you watched them?  Have you tried any new TV shows?  I've, also, been enjoying my returning shows...Scandal, Survivor, Castle, Once Upon A Time...there are more but I'm not completely caught up yet.  Tomorrow night Homeland and The Affair return.  I'm looking forward to those two.

So, what have you been up to?  Read anything good?  Watch any good TV shows or movies?

I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  2. The Magical Cats mysteries look good, I think we have a Sofie Kelly around here somewhere but I haven't read them. They sound fun. And same weather here- rainy for the second day in a row. Good TV weather though, as you say- have a great week!

  3. I enjoyed Blood Red...hope you do, too...and now I want to try Nine Lives.

I tried Code Black and wanted to love it, as I enjoy Marcia Gay Harden...but I felt so tense afterwards. There was too much chaos! LOL

I am looking forward to tonight, with Madame Secretary and The Good Wife.

And I signed up for Hulu Plus and caught Friday's General Hospital episode that I had missed because of the President's long speech....

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. So good to see shows coming back. Castle was crazy this week. Everyone is having such wet weather..we managed with only a little rain here. Hope the week ahead dries out.

  5. We have been enjoying the mild rain here in drought land California, and even had some lightning and thunder last night! Still need more rain though but lucky no hurricanes in sight.

As the baseball season winds down the DVR is filling up with returning shows. Next week will get back into the routine.

  6. Happy Sunday! I like the new shows Blind Spot and Limitless. I try not to like them too much though because anything I like gets canceled the first season.

  7. I liked Code Black. I'm also trying Quantico, Scream Queens, and the new one with the tattooed girl. Forgot the name. Tonight we've got Madame Secretary and Good Wife, plus 3 on PBS! Sunday is very busy!
I wasn't thrilled w Knock on Wood, I found the premise of suspects very foolish.

  10. I've been wanting to try The Magical Cat series. I'm curious what you think of it. And I see some more cozies I'd like. Plus, you can't go wrong with Wendy's books. She's addicting. I'm on the guld coast so we haven't got much of that nasty rain. There is one good thing about it. That cold front kept the hurricane away from all of us!
Glad to hear you are safe and sound. We are all lucky again this year.

  12. Oh, two Corsi Staub books, nice. I forgot to watch Blood & Oil, the commercials look good. So many season premieres the past few weeks, and I'm already behind, sigh.

It was cold and rainy here too but the worst of the weather skipped us so I'm happy.

    Stay warm and happy reading!
