What did I read in May?

May is history and time for a monthly wrap up of what I read...

20 Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler (Excellent)
Blue Smoke and Murder (audio) by Elizabeth Lowell (Very good)
A Few Good Men (Harlequin Blaze) by Tori Carrington (Good)
Sea Changes by Gail Graham (Excellent)
Synarchy: The Awakening by DS (Excellent - review to be posted on June 15th when I begin to host a blog tour for this one).
Firefly Lane (audio) by Kristin Hannah (Excellent)
Murder of a Chocolate-Covered Cherry by Denise Swanson (Excellent)

I normally range between 7-10 books a month, so this was within range for me. The most important thing is - I didn't have a clinker in the bunch, I enjoyed everything I read in May. I hope June is just as good - I'm off to a good start with The Girl Who Stopped Swimming by Joshilyn Jackson.

  2. That's a nice batch of books, and a fine list for one month! "Murder of a Chocolate-Covered Cherry" is a great title - hope the book lived up to it.

  3. Great job! Glad you did not have a clinker! There was one last month that was a boring read for me.

  4. Is that Lowell book an old one? I swear that sounds so familiar -- I just can't recall if I read it long ago. I'm putting the Denise Swanson on my list -- I'm in a light reading phase, by and large, and am picking up lots of romances (maybe I'll check out your Harlequin, too!) and mysteries, plus others not too weight on the brain. No biographies of major historical figures, in other words! I just finished one mystery (name utterly escapes me). And then there's the book on dating advice, which is very fun: Why I love Men: The Joys of Dating, by J.J. Smith. Really, I think all chick lit lovers will enjoy this, because it's funny, and single ones will love it. (Well, if they're looking to improve their dating life, anyway.)

  6. I had a really good May too, quality wise. So many good books! I am glad you had such a good month too, Yvonne!

I look forward to reading your thoughts on The Girl Who Stopped Swimming. I'm looking forward to that one. :-)

  7. Dar - Thanks! I hope June is a good one too :)

Joy - "Murder of a Chocolate-Covered Cherry" was great. It really did live up to the name and Denise Swanson always does well with this series. I've loved them all.

Nise' - Thanks. It's disappointing even when you get one boring book. Hopefully June will be good for both of us :)

Liz - The Lowell book was released as a paperback in 3/09 and in hardcover in 5/08. I prefer lighter reads too - I'm not into bios or historical figures. Denise Swanson's series are quick reads and so much fun. The Joys of Dating sounds cute.

Scrap girl - If you get a chance to read Sea Changes, I think you'll like it.

Wendy - The Girl Who Stopped Swimming has been really good so far!
