The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a great 2023! I'm writing this on New Year's Eve and we have nothing planned for tonight. We'll be home having a quiet NYE.
I finished the year on a good note. I went over my Goodreads goal and finished a few books this week. Some are shorter than others, but I did enjoy them. I always enjoy holiday books and I tend to read them any time of the year. Since I love series books, often I'll get to a Christmas book in the middle of the summer.
I'm pretty much all organized for my 2023 reading or at least through January. I'm hoping to have a better handle on things than I have in the past. I want to catch up on my NetGalley and Edelweiss books before getting more. Let's see if I can stick with that. LOL
I'm planning to start the new year reading a new cozy mystery with a cat on it 😀 I have to start the year off right 😁
I hope you all have a great week and Happy 2023!
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2023! A cozy with a cat. Definitely can't go wrong there.
ReplyDeleteStarting off the year with a cozy mystery with a cat on it? That sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteAnd to celebrate the new year...
Here's a bit from a lovely old (1850!) poem:
"Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true...
Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws...
Ring out false pride in place and blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good."
And a toast: Here's to a year of wonderful reads and small joys!

I'm glad you wrapped up your year nicely. And I'm glad to hear that you have your reading lists in order.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're all set to kick of your 2023 year of reading!!! I am too!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and happy reading!
We had a very quiet NYE, too... seems like we've gotten into that habit over the past few years. Hope you have a good week and enjoy your first book of 2023. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi there Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! My next read this week somewhere will also be Dial M for Meow! I take it you are on the blog tour as well?
I see you've shared some free books, I've read and reviewed A Cat's Guide to bonding with dragons, it was quite fun.
I also plan on being way more organised this year. Edelweiss never ever accepts my requests, but I have a few Netgalley outstanding ones as well.
Have a wonderful new year Yvonne!

Happy New Year! We stayed home too. I think your goals are obtainable...you've got this!
ReplyDeleteI love Sara Ney! I need to work on my Netgalley too, I want to get to 80% rating. Happy new year to you as well!

Hmm, I tried to post, but didn't see it pop up. Love the Sara Ney book, hope you have a happy new year! I also made a DNF shelf on Goodreads for the books I bail or don't finish. That way it helps me keep track there too.

I have the same goal of managing my Netgalley requests better. Here's looking forward to a great reading year in 2023.

That's great to have a plan already. I'm slowly working on one - mostly trying to figure out how to complete the 13 challenges I signed up for.

Happy New Year!! I started the new year finishing a book I didn't finish yesterday, lol, I hope to finish it tonight.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Staying home for New Year's Eve is definitely the way to go. I can't remember the last time I went out and I definitely don't miss it. Enjoy your reading and have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHow purrfect to start the year with a kitty cozy. Happy New Year!! I signed up for Cruisin' through the Cozies on your blog. I linked to your page on my post about it. I hope I set it up correctly. I'm still learning the ropes and this will be my first time participating in challenges in the blogosphere. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I stayed home too and played monopoly with my husband, mum and son until about 2am! (We should have known better... The game that never ends! lol)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching your Goodreads goal! I didn't get to many Christmas reads this year, but like you said, sometimes I get to one in a series in the middle of the summer. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Yvonne and like you I am going to be very tough about taking on new review books this year. Hope we can do it!
