The Weekend Review - February 17th-19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Another quiet week for me.  The weather here has been nice.  I'm not sure how long it will last, but we didn't have any rain or clouds.

I didn't finish any books this week.  I think I was too caught up in my new Game of Thrones obsession.  I finished the final season, and I didn't hate it as much as others did.  I actually thought it was very well done although I was sad to see some of the characters being killed off.  I watched the first episode of the prequel House of Dragons, but I'm not into it yet.  I found it a little slow, but I thought the same thing about Game of Thrones and that turned into an obsession.

Some of my other TV shows are returning.  This week I had Young Sheldon, NCIS, Blue Bloods and Fire Country.  Fire Country is the only one I haven't seen yet.  I also want to try the new series Tracker.

Not much else is happening here.  I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.  Have a great week!

I didn't finish anything this week.

Here's my reading list through February.  I'm sure some of these will be carried over into March.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. I didn't become as obsessed with House of the Dragon but am still looking forward to the new series due later this year. I've never read the GOT books, have you?

    1. No, I haven't read the GOT books yet. They are longer than books I usually read, but I still might try at least the first one.

  2. House of the Dragon is interesting, I think they should have covered more ground in the first season but still... well done. the book is wild.

It's been snowy and cold here

    1. I have to get back to watching House of the Dragon. I've only watched the first episode. I'll have to check out the book too. Have a great week!

    2. The book is different because it's more like histories so it's dryer than GT. Like he's just reciting a history.

  6. I agree with you regarding the last season of Game of Thrones - and having read several of the books, I'm not suprised that Martin didn't finish the series - it would be a monster task to round off everyone's personal story without becoming really boringly repetitive. Glad you had a quiet week and I hope the coming one is also peaceful:).

    1. Agree about GOT. I can't imagine how it would be to wrap up everyone's personal story. I do think the way they did it was good, but I was more than ready for another season and to keep going. Have a great week!

  8. I think it really helps that you can binge a series and not have to wait a week for each episode to stay engaged and remember all the plot bits. That said, I end up reading more than watching.
