Sunday/Monday Posts - July 1st and 2nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

July?  July?  Really?  I'm not buying it.  I feel like it wasn't that long ago we were all recuperating from the Christmas holidays...now summer is already flying by.  Even the weather is confused - one day it's humid and feels like you can bake on the beach, the next it feels like the beginning of spring, the day after it's chilly and you can use a jacket.  Someone let me know when the weather makes up its mind.  LOL

I was still busy with my blog this week, although not as busy as last week.  Next week is light too because of the holidays.  Then, it gets busy again.  August is really booked up already.

I've been reading some really good books.  It hasn't been all cozy mysteries, but a mix of suspense, thrillers, and a little chick lit too.  A little of everything.  I figure a mixture keeps you fresh.  I think my big problem is that I want to read everything and there's just not enough hours in a day to do that, but I'm still trying :)

Like with books, I also want to watch everything :)  I'm finishing up my binge watching of Ray Donovan.  What a great show and I'm looking forward to the new season starting in August.  Now it's a toss up of going back to Orange is the New Black (not enjoying it as much as I used to, but maybe it will get better) or watching the new season of Wentworth (I've really been looking forward to this).  Still have the last season of Bloodline to watch.

Things are going well on the home front and I'm hoping to still get in much more reading this summer.  For those of you celebrating July 4th, I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday.  I'm just hoping I can keep my kitties relaxed as the fireworks go off.  Have a great week!

Yvonne

  2. I love the looks of some of the books you have planned. My dog hates fireworks so I wish you the best with your kitties. If they get too bad, Booker T has to take xanax. Have a good holiday.

  9. It is hard to believe the year is 1/2 over and before ya know it Fall will be here. I want to enjoy the warmth. Our temps go from one extreme to the other. This weekend has been lovely with temps in low 80s. Glad you are catching up on shows and I love your new books.

  12. The Child is on my TBR. It looks fantastic! Our weather has settled on hot and humid and I'm melting! I've been reading a bunch of great cozies lately though I'm trying to mix up my genres some. I've had good luck with keeping away reading slumps with that. Have a great week and happy 4th!

  13. I am totally with you on the calendar - it seems impossible that the year could be half over already!

And I also agree wholeheartedly that I want to read and watch everything! So many books, so little time...

We are big OITNB fans - this season is very different but I am still loving it. My mom and her husband love Ray Donavan and Bloodline - we need to give them a try.

Looks like you have some great books lined up!

Hope you will consider joining my Big Book Summer Challenge this summer - you only need to read one book of 400+ pages to join the fun! Enjoy your books this week -
