The Weekend Review - August 17th-19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

August is moving right along.  We're almost done with another month.  It just goes so fast.  We had hot and humid weather all week, but the weekend is a bit cooler, and it's been cloudy.  A little rain, but not much.

I only finished one book this week.  I keep hoping to read more each week, but it hasn't been happening.  I need to stay away from the computer and TV :)

I found a new-to-me TV show I've been watching on Peacock.  It's called The Ark.  It's a space type of show that started out on the SY FY channel.  It's pretty good and a nice filler until the regular shows return.  I've also been watching Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.  I never actually saw the whole series before.  I just saw a couple of episodes.  It's a good show.

Not much else is going on around here.  It's been pretty quiet.  How has your week been?  Good, I hope. Have a great week everyone!

  1. Thanks for the freebie tips. I have so many on my tbr list that I won't add any more anytime soon. Continue your easy going August and hope it doesn't get hot again.

  2. It's been hot and dry here, but, for us, that's better than hot and open to the arrival of hurricanes!

Rock the Boat looks like fun!

  3. I've seen stuff about The Ark, I haven't given it a shot myself, but it sounds fun! Hope you keep enjoying it. And hope you enjoy the new books!

  4. TV is the one thing I don't have to worry about much as I prefer reruns of my favorite older shows than anything new and so I basically use it as background noise for my reading. Now youtube is a different thing as I will find myself getting distracted by it at times.

Have a good week and happy reading!

  9. It's been hot here too. I was out this morning and it felt pretty good but now the feel like is 99° due to the humidity. I heard there was another hurricane headed toward Florida but I checked and it turned back out out to the ocean.

"I need to stay away from the computer and TV". Me too!!!

I put the Cruising for Clues series on my list to read.

  11. My husband loves The Ark. He recently binged the entire show. We both chuckle at the inclusion of missionaries and a space ship called Nauvoo from our religion. I hope you continue to like it.

    Have a great week!

  13. Society of Lies looks good. The summer is flying although I wish it was cooler. We also desperately need some rain. I started watching Gilmore Girls again to fill the time.

  15. We had a cool week here. Not "turn on the furnace" cool but the Central Air didn't run much. I don't watch much TV but The Ark sounds like a show I would enjoy. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. The Bramsford Manor book looks like a really interesting cozy mystery. I love looking around for some TV show to follow and so good when I find one.

  17. The Darci Hannah book looks so good. I've heard great things about her other books and I love the sound of this series. I need to try The Ark. It's been too long since I've watched a show that really hooked me. Have a great week!
