The Weekend Review - August 24th-26th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

An interesting week for me.  I've been having problems moving my left arm.  I went to the doctor this week.  They think it might be tendinitis.  I went for an x-ray this morning so now I wait for the results.  There always seems to be something going on medically.  Oh well, hopefully they can figure it out so it's not so difficult to lift my arm or sleep on my left side.

I did manage to finish two books this week.  Both were good ones.  Now I have to figure out what I'll be reading in September.  Always so many choices.

For what I'm watching, I finished the series Evil.  It was good but the ending was a bit strange.  Of course the entire series was strange.  LOL   I've become addicted to watching old episodes of Dallas. Back when it originally aired, I was so addicted to it.  It's been easy to fall right back into it.

Other than that...it's been hot and humid with heavy rain once in a while.  Not always, but suddenly the sky opens up and it rains.  Then, the sun comes back out.

So, what has been going on in your part of the world?  I hope you all have a great week!

I finished reading ...

I only have one book left for August, but the release date has been moved to October.  So, I pushed this one back on my schedule.  I have to put together my September list.  I should have that together next week.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. I hope they figure out what is going on with your arm. Medical stuff isn't any fun at all. I'm on my umpteenth cold of the year right now, and pretty frustrated about that.

  2. We had the whole year's normal rainfall before mid-year, but August has been dry...who can figure that out?!

It seems like it's always something health-wise popping up at my age! Hope the doctors are able to figure out what is going on with you and to offer a solution.

  3. I see a few books I may get. My reading/reviewing this year has been nonexistent. It seems I've been taking an unplanned break.

  5. I'm watching the K drama, The Frog, a thriller that gives me the creeps but I love watching it. Have a good week.
The lavender fields in Provence look great on your cozy book cover.

  6. Hope they find out what is wrong with your arm. One time I was having problems with my arm and it was because when I sleep on my side I put my arm up and laid my head on it, they told me not to do that, boy was it hard as that was how I loved to sleep...lol.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  8. Your weather sounds like typical Florida. It was cooler this week here but headed back up to the 90s this week. I spent the last 2 days trying to figure out the rest of my Sept / Oct reading.

  10. I hope whatever is wrong with your arm can easily be resolved. It's so frustrating to go through medical related issues. I'm all too familiar with them myself. I hope your week is a good one. :)

  12. Did they finally put out the last 4 episodes of Evil that they said they would to finish it up? I enjoyed that show for the most part, so need to see! I hope they get your arm figured out. I use my left arm to hold my books, lol. Hope you have a good week!

  13. Oh no! Hope you can get some answers and relief. (and insurance will foot the bill!). I'll have to check out some of the cat linkys - my two sisters are usually pretty camera shy though.

  14. I hope they can figure out your arm and get you squared away without too many interventions and appointments. I'm wrapping up reading a fun paranormal cozy and next up I need to finish a cople of witchy books I started on vacation.

  15. May it just be tendonitis and may it resolve quickly so you can have a great week.

  17. I hope they figure out what's going on with your arm. I didn't watch Dallas -- well, except for the "Who shot J.R?" episode and am glad you are enjoying it. It is about time for me to fill in my October calendar, but it can likely wait a week until I have more of my September calendar reviews read and scheduled. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  18. Always nice when a book gets pushed back and giving therefore more time to read and review! Hope your arm gets sorted.
