Sunday Salon - Goodbye June, Hello July!

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, just click the button above.

I don't know how it is by you guys, but here in New York...it's hot! Our temps have been ranging close to 100 degrees.

The first half of the year went pretty fast. I can't believe how 2012 is just flying by.

These are the books I read in June...(click the titles to read the reviews)

A Fistful of Collars by Spencer Quinn (audio)
Quilt or Innocence by Elizabeth Craig
Giving Up the Ghost by Marilyn Levinson
Who Murdered the Ghost? by Ellie Oberth
Corpse in the Crystal Ball by Kari Lee Townsend
For Whom the Funeral Bell Tolls by Livia J. Washburn
The Last Boy by Jane Leavy (audio)

Not the greatest month, but average for me. I'm always seeing people with long monthly lists and I'm nowhere near those lists, but I wish I could read that much in a month.

An update on the various challenges I'm signed up with...(beware - it's not pretty!)

I joined 21 reading challenges.

Completed - 2 challenges, so far.

Didn't even start 3 challenges, so I'm pretty sure I'll end up dropping them.

I'm close to finishing 4 challenges.

There are 11 challenges that I might possibly complete. No guarantees, but maybe a couple of them.

Of the 4 challenges I host...

I'm almost done with 2.

I didn't even start the other 2 (how embarrassing is that?)

However, I think I'm going to still host all 4 of these challenges next year, too, regardless of how I do with them. I'm having fun with them.

I could say I won't be signing up with so many challenges next year, but what I say now probably won't hold up by the end of the year. LOL

As for blog tours...

You'll notice I have quite a number of them scheduled throughout the summer and fall. Stay tuned - as a few of them will be book giveaways! Don't miss out!

On Tuesday, July 3rd I'll be hosting a paperback book giveaway of Beef Stolen-Off by Liz Lipperman. A wonderful cozy I'm reading now. I will post my review as well as a wonderful interview with the author. Make sure to stop by and enter the giveaway for your very own copy of the book.

That's my wrap up for the week and for the month. I hope you all have a great reading week!

  3. I just finished Corpse in the Crystal Ball, did not like it at all, I felt it reads as if she was writing a romance not a true mystery. The mystery was to simplistic and I figured it out right away. Very disappointed in the book.
Its "70" ish here and beauitful by the coast in So. California. We are looking at high 70's all week. Today is beach day.

  4. Wow, 21 challenges! But no problem...with half the year ahead, you can do it!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
