Sunday/Monday Posts - November 16th and 17th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

Happy Sunday and Monday!

It's been a busy week for me at work, but I managed to finish a couple of books.  However, I wish I had more reading time (don't we all?  LOL).

I did start up my posts for the three reading challenges that I host each year and I'm looking forward to those.  I haven't signed up for any others yet, but I will choose a couple to sign up with.  As I've said before, I'm going to be a bit more choosey with which challenges I join. Even though I never complete them, I do love doing the Alphabet Soup and Where Are You Reading challenges.  So, I will most likely join those again.  After that, I'm not sure but I do love the Foodie Reading Challenge, so I'll probably do that one too.  We'll see.

I'm really enjoying audio books now that I'm back to working and have a commute.  It's only a 40 minute drive each way, but it's enough time that I was able to finally finish the Women's Murder Club series until the next one comes out.  That also lets me finally finish my Finishing the Series Reading Challenge for 2014.

Other than that, it's been quiet.  I hope you are all getting in some good reading.  Have a great week!

Yvonne

  1. I only got through one book this week but it was a good one. Curious to see your thoughts on Once Upon A Crime. And I should really get into audio books, since I have a commute- why aren't I doing that? I would get so much more reading done that way. I've listened to a few but think I need to get some more of them. Have a great weekend.

  3. Ooh, I'm curious about Frame Change. Love the cover...

Glad you can enjoy audio on your commute. When I was still commuting, I wasn't blogging, and definitely hadn't thought about audio.

Things change, though. Who knows? There could be travel in my future that would call for audio.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. Happy Sunday! You are so organized with your reading, Yvonne. I hope you're enjoying the audio version of Mitch Albom's book. I read it, and think it would be terrific as an audiobook.

  5. If the Shoe Kills and Forced look good. Preparing posts ahead is always rewarding. Hope you get in some more reading this week!

  6. More reading time is always appreciated for sure. Those 40 minutes add up, so that's great you were able to knockout the audiobook in that time.

  7. I need to get my act together with challenges. I joined a few this year but I've been terrible about completing them and updating them. I plan to do better next year! I'm reading the Lynn Cahoon as well and am enjoying it. I would love to have more reading time as well! One day right? Have a great week!

  8. Like you, I'm planning on cutting back on challenges for next year. I like the ones that aren't year long like COYER and Ho Ho Ho, so I'll keep those but scale back the year long ones.

Now that I have a commute (my old job was 10 minutes each way) I should try listening to some audio books on my cell phone. I should see what my library has.

Have a good week and stay warm!
