Monday Musings - 2009 favorites

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about 2009 favourites…

Coming towards the end of April, we’re a third of the way through the way through the year. What’s the favourite book you’ve read so far in 2009? What about your least favourite? (question courtesy of MizB)

I list my favorites of the year on my sidebar. It's hard to say which was my absolute favorite, but I did love The Tygrine Cat, Jantsen's Gift, Virgin River and 74 Seaside Avenue. I can't really choose just one.

My least favorite? I guess I'd have to say The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. I didn't hate it, it just bored me and wasn't my thing. I might have felt differently had I read the print version instead of listening to the audio version, but I don't have any desire to get the print version.

  1. It is so hard to pick out your favourite books when there are so many goods ones that you have read. They all sound fab. Sorry to hear you didn't like The No1 Ladies Detective Agency. That one is an acquired taste.

  3. I've avoided reading the No.1 Ladies books because I think like you they're probably not my cup of tea. Oh well! can't always follow the crowd I guess.

  4. I've seen some of the televisised version of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency but gave up very quickly. I did think about trying the book but it's not my thing either, so I guess I won't bother :)

  5. ok -- LOVE the I hate mondays photo -- I may need to copy to my desktop!!

I wanted to thank you for your kind encouraging comments on my blog during the readathon. You should definitely consider doing it in October --- no courage needed :) -- just a love of books.

And....I must agree....the Ladies No 1 Detective Agency was a little too blase for my taste; but he sure does have a fan club!

  7. Alexander McCall-Smith is so popular that I have avoided reading him. Maybe someday... :)

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
