Monday Musings

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about blog comments

How do you respond to the comments on your blog? Do you try to email individually or comment on post yourself answering the comments above? What do you think is the best way to respond to comments and do you respond to all of them? Do you feel slighted if you don't receive a response back from the blog owner? (question courtesy of Jenn)

Good question. I've often wondered what everyone does. I try to respond to anything that looks like it should be answered. For the most part, I go to comment on other people's blogs, especially if they've posted here. I figure it gives me more time to browse the other blogs instead of spending alot of time commenting here.

Like I said, if something looks like it should be answered here, I will. I'll also try to put all my responses in one post, if possible.

What do you do? If you'd like to play along, just click the button above.

  1. My dog got me up at 4AM to go out, so I feel just like that cat this morning.

  2. Love that pic!! That's how I felt this morning too! I don't ever feel slighted if I don't get responses to my comments. Not every comment warrants a response. But if I have a new commenter, I always go to their blog to thank them. (I forgot to mention that in my response)

  3. This comment has been removed by the author.

  4. There are a few who make offensive comments. I do reply to those. Or I simply delete. It depends.

  5. Great kitty photo! I don't necessary reply to each comment. Who has the time and energy? Plus most do not require a personal reply.

  6. I feel like the kitty right now. I think I'm getting an ear infection.

  7. I pondered at this question a lot when I was an inchoate blogger. I wish to be able to reply to all the comments, given that the comments are open-ended. I also want to acknowledge all my readers and not to make them feel they are ignored. The etiquette of dealing with comments also lead to a bigger question of when and how to link a blog. Anyway, I appreciate your taking time to share your thoughts on my blog. :)

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
