The Weekend Review - March 13th-15th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

Our state finally made my age group eligible for the Covid vaccine.  Now, I just have to try and get us appointments.  I'll be setting my alarm on Monday and trying to get in as soon as we can.  Our restrictions have been lifted, but it really hasn't effected me one way or another.  We continue to do what we were doing at least until we both get vaccinated.

I finished two books this week.  Both of them were good reads.  I continue to enjoy audio books as I walk.  I feel like I'm accomplishing two things - reading and getting exercise in.  That can't be a bad thing.

A few more of my shows have returned - New Amsterdam, Grey's Anatomy. and Station 19.  So, I've been enjoying those plus other shows as well.

Not much else going on here...I'm just reading and watching :)  How about you?  What have you been up to?  Have a great week!

  1. Good luck with the shots! We're starting to hear that maybe we're eligible now too, or will be soonish.

Ooh that Julie Mulhern series is fun!

  2. I love listening to audio books during walks! I'm listening to Always the Last To Know by Kristan Higgins right now and the performances are really good.

  3. I hope you are able to get an appointment for your vaccine! My husband is hoping he will be able to get his this summer. We will be taking things slow as things open up more here.

I have been watching New Amsterdam too. I am glad it is back. It's been interesting to see how some of these shows incorporate the pandemic into their storylines.

I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great week, Yvonne!

  4. I am pleased to hear you are now eligible for the vaccine and I hope you won't have any trouble booking your slots. I am having my first vaccination this Tuesday, as I work with vulnerable children. Finally feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel doesn't it? 🙂

  5. It's been frustrating here to see our governor open up things before allowing everyone to get vaccines. We were fortunately able to get vaccines, and just in the nick of time, I think.

I haven't heard about New Amsterdam or Station 19. We're looking for what comes next, so I'll see if I can find these.

We really enjoyed Ready Player One on audiobook, and now Ready Player Two is waiting for me at the library.

Oh, I like the look of Bookstore on the Beach.

  6. Good luck with getting an appointment soon! Here in Italy we still have to wait. I think my category will be eligible for getting a vaccine near summer. We're also officially back to lockdown for the rest of March. I hope this will lead to a lowering of the numbers and that soon we'll beat this thing.

I've been rewatching Bones this week and I forgot how much I loved that show. Other than that I've just been watching my regular shows and reading a bit. Happy reading <3

  7. I am going to hold thumps that you get an appointment as soon as possible so that life can get back to normal for you.

We have no idea when the vaccine will be available for the general public here in SA. But the numbers are well contained at the moment, so we are remaining hopeful!!

Good luck with your tours coming up and enjoy your walks and listening to audio books!

  8. I love audio books! I'm listening to The Diary by Eileen Goudge.

I'm so glad that New Amsterdam & A Million Little Things are back!!!

I'm a cover snob and I see a few book covers that I love so I'll be checking the books out.

    Have a great week!

  9. Sensible of you to stay safe until the vaccination. I wish more people followed your rules. Have a great week ahead.

  10. I hope you get your vaccines soon! We got our first shots about 2 weeks ago, and will get the second ones in 2 more weeks. But we won't be making many changes to what we've been doing... not until we see what happens with the new variants and overall transmission rates.

How are you enjoying The Bookstore on the Beach?

  11. Good luck getting your vaccines soon! Congrats on being safe out there, especially in a state where there are still lots of cases. We have that issue, too.

Enjoy those books. I loved the Julie Mulhern Country Club Murder series, and need to finish a couple of the books still.

Happy weekend! Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  12. Clouds in my coffee looks great. I will pick up a book with coffee in the title, just to salvate. Glad you got in line for vaccine.

  13. I'm not sure, but I think it was either Station 19 or Grays I was watching where they were sitting in chairs talking to a documentary person or something and a cult was involved? Anyway, the interview segments were cracking me up the way they were bickering or whatever. Sorry for my vagueness but I have a horrible memory for this stuff, I just know if it was good or not. LOL Hopefully you know the episode I'm talking about. If not, just ignore me!

  19. Nice looking books. Good luck getting scheduled for your shots. My brother is eager for his age group to come up. I'm waiting for my second shot since I'm 7 years older than he is. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  20. Good luck scheduling your shot. I'm so relieved to be two weeks out from my first one when stats show them to be highly effective. Still plan to get the next one but I'm surprised at how much less stress I feel about stuff knowing I'm probably protected.

  21. Your blog tour books look good, and I guess I should jump on the The Bookstore on the Beach bandwagon soon!

  22. We are the same way. Our area is open with restrictions (mask mandate and capacity limits) but for the most part it could 100% open and it wouldn't change how we do things for now. Fingers crossed on getting your appointments! My husband has his for a few weeks from now but I'm in kind of a grey area of eligibility. Have a great week!
