The Weekend Review - March 27th-29th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

So, April is almost here.  Every month I ask where the previous month went and this was no different.  It felt as if March flew by so fast.  Last year, it felt like March would never end.  What a difference a year makes.  Who knew we'd actually have a vaccine for COVID by now?  My husband and I both had our first shot with no side effects at all.  We get the 2nd in April.  Of course we have to still take precautions, but this is a start.

I only read one book this week but it was a great one.  Falling into Magic by Elizabeth Pantley was such a pleasant surprise.  It's a paranormal cozy mystery.  A little different than my usual reads.  I have the second book waiting in the wings.  I just need to read some more blog tour books first.

I've been binge-watching the old TV series Alfred Hitchcock Presents.  It's like watching mini cozy mysteries.  LOL  I'm enjoying this series.  I never saw it before.

The weather here in Florida has been beautiful.  We had a chance to sit by the beach a little while and do some walking.

I hope you have all had a good week.  Have you done anything special?  Read or watch anything good?  I the upcoming week is a good one for you.

  1. I forgot about Hitchcock presents! I remember watching that with my grandmother years ago. Sounds like a good one to binge on! I'm so glad you didn't have any side effects. My daughter had some but while they weren't fun they didn't last long and she said it was totally worth it to not have to worry as much about spreading it. Have a great week!

My husband loved Alfred Hitchcock Presents back in the day. I should remind him of it. I bet he'd love to see it again.

  12. I only got one book finished this week, too. Most unusual for me, and for you, too! At least it was one you enjoyed.

I'm so glad you and your husband have gotten your first shots. My husband and I just got our second ones. As you say, we will still need to take precautions, but at least I won't be quite as anxious.

  14. Yvonne, I am so pleased to hear your and the hubby got your first dose of the vaccine and had no averse side effects, that's great! I am also pleased to hear you have been enjoying some cosy mystery - I think I am long overdue one myself!

As for my own week, it has been a regular one of work and home, with the slight different that I could got to church today. However I have enjoyed reading A Room With a View by E.M. Forster and watching Merlin and Your Honor.

Take care and happy reading in the coming week! 🙂

  15. I know this time last year I think it was all about uncertainty and just really not knowing what next. At least now we are making progress and so glad so many people are getting their vaccines. Looks like you've got a lot of great books to keep you busy this coming week and how nice to be able to enjoy a good book while you sit on the beach. Sounds lovely!

  18. I'm glad to hear you both got your first vaccines and had no side effects. I'm getting my first on Thursday and I'm not too worried for the first shot, but the second shot (which I'll schedule when I go in on Thursday) is a big question mark. - Melinda @ A Web of Stories

  19. Nice to see The House Guests in your line up. Sounds like Spring is well on the way for you. March felt good to me, its a month with a good number of days which helps, but the year is slip sliding already.
