The Weekend Review - March 6th-8th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

It's been another quiet week. We've been having beautiful weather here.

I'm really enjoying listening to cozy mysteries on audio as I go on my daily walks.  I accomplish a few things this way - one is reading series I've been anxious to read but haven't had a chance, it makes me look forward to actually exercising everyday and I'm reading books that I want to read and not just books for review.  This is making me very happy.

I continue to stock up on Kindle freebies.  I don't know what I'm stocking up for but everything always looks so good and I figure there's no harm in filling up my Kindle.

As for what I'm watching...it's the usual shows - The Blacklist, old episodes of The Twilight Zone, The Resident and Resident Alien.  I didn't like Resident Alien at first but now I'm loving this series.  I tried Clarice, but it was too slow moving.  I have to give it another try.

Not much else going on here...I'm just reading and watching :)  How about you?  What have you been up to?  Have a great week!

  1. I’m glad you’re enjoying walking and listening.
I can’t seem to do dark tv like Clarice at the moment, I’ve mainly been sticking with home building/buying/Reno shows

Wishing you a great reading week

  2. I should listen to audio as I walk, that's a great idea. surprised I haven't thought of that. Glad the weather has been nice too. We're supposed to warm up this week so maybe some of that will make its way over here. :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. So pleased to hear you are still enjoying your daily walks and audiobook listening, and even better that you've been blessed with some lovely weather for it too! 😊 Mine has also been a quiet week of work mainly, as I have been very tired in the evenings. However when I have been able I have been enjoying reading the mythological-fantasy The Testament of Loki by Joanna M. Harris. Take care and happy reading in the coming week, Yvonne 🙂

  6. Glad you're enjoying beautiful weather - it's just so much easier if you can enjoy the outdoors. And when I'm feeling better, I'll have a go at also listening to audiobooks while taking a walk, too. I hope the coming week is a good one, Yvonne.

  7. If listening to audiobooks allows you to listen to cozies plus exercise, then it's win-win.

I stock up on freebies, too. I have no idea what I'm saving up for either. A book shortage?!

We are huge Twilight Zone fans. I'm not sure where you can watch it right now.

  8. I loved Clouds in My Coffee, and realized there are a couple more books from the author that I haven't yet read! Must get on that!

I have also been eyeing Are We There Yet?

Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  9. Great that you're walking everyday.I picked up a passenger recently that told me how many of his clients at the nursing home walk five miles a day inside their living facility and that's how they stay so young.

  10. Hi Yvonne! I miss Audio Books. Haven't had time for one in months.

Glad you are enjoying your exercise and getting some "reading" done at the same time!

Life is hectic, hectic here with me. But we have holidays in 2 weeks time and I can't wait for the break.

Take care and enjoy all your lovely books. I've also been stacking a bit on the Kindle freebies, no harm done - I agree completely!

    Have a good week!

  11. Listening to audiobooks while walking is a great way to get reading AND exercise into your day! As the weather improves here, I hope to take more outdoor walks; meanwhile, I'll try to use the treadmill more consistently.

Enjoy this week's reads, and I hope you get to read at least one or two of your freebies as well!

  12. I really love listening to audiobooks. I mainly listen to non-fiction audiobooks while I'm doing other things like cleaning or taking walks in the park. I feel like I retain things so much better that way. Fiction books are different because I feel like I need to be more focused in order to visualize the story in my head.

  18. I haven't had much luck with TV lately but it's more on me then on that. Good to know Clarice is slow moving though. I was thinking of giving it a try but I think I'll pass. SO many great books! Hope you have a great week!

  19. I'm so happy you are finding time to listen/read what you want to read! I've had my eye on that Vivien Chien cozy mystery series. I picked up the first in the series a bit ago. I should pick it up soon.

I've wondered about Clarice. I may give it a go once I've knocked off a few others on my list.
