The Weekend Review - September 16th-18th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I only managed to finish one book this week.  I have to admit, it's getting harder and harder to read these days.  So, I decided to take a mini-break.  I'll still be posting on Sundays, as well as any blog tours I already signed up for.  I'll occasionally participate in weekly memes, but until I know more about my medical situation, I think I just need to focus on that.

The Tuesday meme I host - First Chapter Tuesdays - will be on a hiatus for now.  If someone would like to take it over, that would be great.  Otherwise, I'll just put it on hold and get back to it when I know more about what's going on with me.

I'm not leaving the blog world, so you can't get rid of me that easily.  Basically, I'll just be around less for awhile.  I'm fully planning to fully return in a few months.  For now, I'm just a part-timer :)

It's still humid in Florida but this seems to be a rainy week.  I'm hoping things will cool off at least a little.  Our a/c broke!  Yikes!  Hopefully it will be fixed this week but they had to order parts for it.

So, what's been going on in your part of the world.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend and have a great upcoming week.

Posts last week:

I'm reading...

I finished reading ...

These are the books I'm hoping to read in September.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Glad you're not leaving! And oh no about the AC! We had the exact same thing happen earliesr this summer. It was sweltering. They had to order a part and thankfully they expedited it so we only went a few days...

  2. I'm sorry to hear your health is making reading hard. Hope you are able to get back to enjoying reading soon. But your break is well deserved. Enjoy the time off.

  3. Take care of yourself and we will be here when your feeling better. Hope you can figure out all the medical stuff soon.

  4. I like the technique of slowing down, but not stopping with the blog. It seems to retain the connections without being too stressful. I hope the health stuff starts to take a turn for the better.

  5. I'm glad you have been able to figure out a way to continue blogging, but to slow down a bit. It is important to focus on health, I think.

They say it has been raining at home in Texas...we certainly hope so. It really hasn't rained there in more than two months.

  6. It sounds like a really good idea to slow down, rather than completely stop blogging. That's what I've done, once I recovered sufficiently to blog at all! And so sorry to hear about your aircon woes - the temperatures you folks are enduring sound awful... Here's hoping the coming week is a better one, Yvonne:).

  7. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. But I'm very happy you'll still be around in the blogosphere. I really enjoy reading your posts. Sometimes a bit of a break is necessary and I'm glad you're taking care of yourself. I look forward to when you'll be back full time, but in the meantime I'm glad you can still be here part-time. :-)

  8. I hope you are on the mend soon! Take all the time you need - health comes first.

  9. I hope you get that AC fixed quickly. Take care of yourself!

  10. Glad you are not leaving the blogging world. You definitely need to keep your health as a priority. XO

  11. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself. You need to sharpen the saw, so to speak.

We'll see you when you feel up to posting, no pressure.

  12. We'll miss you but really important to take care of you and your health issues. We'll see you when you are about again.

  13. I'm sorry to hear that your health is impacting your blogging. Take care of yourself! Blogging can wait. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. I hope your health issues are resolved for you soon. That is always a tough wait.

  15. Hope your medical issues sort themselves out soon. Oh no not the AC!

  16. Lots of good looking books and I get taking a break. I usually get burnout once or twice a year. Enjoy your down time.

  17. Here's hoping you are back to full health soon. Your books look great this week.

  18. We will miss you around here but I definitely understand and hope you are able to get some rest and answers and get your reading groove back. Fingers crossed the a/c gets fixed ASAP! Have a great week!

  19. Good luck with your health. I hope your break is healing.

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
