The Weekend Review - September 2nd-4th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

It was a week of doctor appointments for me.  Turns out I will need more surgery in a couple of months.  I'm trying to put all of this out of my mind, but it's hard.  I'd rather just sink into some good books.  So, that's what I'm trying to do.

I only finished one book this week and it was a good one.  I'm currently reading another good cozy mystery.

I'm enjoying the series The Way Home.  Very good and I always like Andie McDowell.  She's good in everything she does.

The weather remains hot and humid here.  We were fortunate that the hurricane missed us.  I hope all those effected by it are okay.  My heart goes out to everyone suffering.

I wish you all a good week.

  8. Glad to hear you didn't get hit by the hurrican - and I'm sorry that you're going to need more surgery:(. I think turning to books is a really smart idea - it's what got me through the worst of my long covid. I hope the coming week is a kinder one, Yvonne:).

  12. It's the third day of the month and I still haven't figured out what all I will be reading this month. I feel a little stuck with my current book, I had expected to already have it finished, but my weekend went sideways. I am so sorry you have to have another surgery. I hope you are doing okay and the surgery will be helpful.

  14. Happy to hear you didn't get hit by the storm and I'm glad you're enjoying The Way Home. On Friday, I watched The Beach House, which Andie McDowell starred in. She is indeed so talented! I can relate to how you feel with the anticipation of another surgery. When life gives me plot twists, I don't know how to focus on anything else. This past week I didn't read anything (although I did listen to a book). I'm going to try to do better this week even though I have several appointments scheduled this month. I hope you enjoy a week of good reads. I'll be thinking of you! :)
