Sunday/Monday Posts - July 17th and 18th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

We had a week of hot, humid weather.  When it gets so hot, I don't feel like doing anything and that seems to include reading.  I decided to read a couple of novellas before reading a full length book. Sometimes the short ones can be a nice filler.

I finally had a chance to watch season 4 of Orange is the New Black.  Good season.  It was slow at the start and then I couldn't stop watching.  Now, I'm back to Bloodline and almost finished with the first season.  This is getting really good too.  I had a chance to watch Outlander's season finale which was a good one.  Once I'm done with Bloodline, I'll have to find another show to binge watch.

Another week that I went a bit crazy with getting Kindle freebies.  I guess there are worse things for me to be addicted to.  Besides, they are free :)

Not too much else going on around here.  I'm hoping to get in some more reading this week.  I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  2. I've been pretty good the last few weeks about not adding any freebies to my Kindle, but yesterday I did buy the Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery Series.

  3. What a haul of freebies! It's fun...but I stopped doing it when I realized how many books there actually were.

    Enjoy!

I also loved Season 4 of OITNB after the first few episodes...it caught fire and I now can't wait for the next season.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. I'm the same way when it gets hot. The last thing I want to do is read. You have gotten some good stuff though! I just read a Tonya Kappes that I really enjoyed and that Amy Metz series is on my TBR. Have a great week!

  5. It's been hot here too, and muggy. I got tired out in it, after hitting the beach one day and walking around town... the humidity whips you out! Or at least it does to me. I saw this week that Bloodline got renewed , so yay for that. And you might like Marcella- just watched that on Netflix. Another crime show.

Murder on the High Seas and Murder by the Bay both look good.

  8. I'm so glad I'm not the only one still blogging! I left for college, and came back to find the blogosphere completely dead :( Glad to know there are still some loyal book bloggers out there.

I've moved my blog over to thelifeandlies.blogspot.com I have a giveaway over there if you want to enter! *following* :)

  9. It's hot here, but I love it. Just have to do things early, then take it easy the rest of the day. I am terrible with the freebies too. I can't seem to help myself. Hope you enjoy them all.

  10. Novellas are great when you're having trouble getting into a full length book sometimes. I'm bad with the freebies, which you'll see if you Check out my Sunday Post

  11. Great haul! I have to stay away from Kindle freebies. I’d go nuts and then get overwhelmed with the number of books I want to read. I hope you enjoy them!

  12. Since my goal is to lower my TBR mountain both print and digital, I have been actively avoiding Kindle freebies. I hope you enjoy the ones you picked. Come see my reading week here. Happy reading!

  13. I hate humid weather it is the worst! Those Kindle freebies look pretty good so your picks seem to be very promising.

  14. We kind of stalled out with the second season of Outlander, but I hear it gets better once they get back to Scotland. Did you like it as much as Season 1?

    Have a great week!

  15. I felt the same way about Orange is the New Black!! It was slow at first, but then I needed to watch until the end. And wow - I can't believe I need to wait until next year for the next season! :(

I love the cover for Murder by the Bay!

Our weather has been the same - hot and humid. Bleh.
