Sunday/Monday Posts - July 31st and August 1st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

July is over?  Really?  Where did it go so fast?  It really does amaze me how fast time is going.

As I said last week, I'm not reading as much as I had hoped this summer, but life has been busy and crazy.  That's life, I guess.  My blog has been busy.  I had a few tours last week and have a few scheduled for next week. As usual, I booked more tours than I planned to, so August will be a busy month.  They aren't all review tours, but even the spotlights take time to post.  I have to admit, it's work but I love it.

I'm looking forward to a new Hallmark TV show that's coming up in August.  It's based on the Chesapeake Shores series written by Sherryl Woods.  I've always loved her books, but I haven't had a chance to read any recently.  Her writing is similar to Debbie Macomber and Robyn Carr.  To get ready for the series, I borrowed the e-book of the first book in the Chesapeake series from the library - "The Inn at Eagle Point" and plan to read it this week.  It's one of the few books I'm actually reading just because I want to and not a review book (Also because I want to read it before I see the TV show).  I'm excited about that :)  I know TV shows (and movies) are rarely as good as the books so we'll see how this show does.  I enjoyed the Cedar Cove TV series, but loved the books 100 times more.

I'm still working on watching the second season of Bloodline on Netflix.  I'm hoping to see the new Star Trek movie this weekend.  If not, then some time in the next week or so.

So, what's up with all of you?  Anything new going on?  I hope everyone has a great week!

Yvonne

  3. I can't believe July is over. I thought June went by fast but July was a blur...all of a sudden summer seems to be dwindling away.

Hope you enjoy Star Trek if you see it!

  4. July just flew by! I'll have to look for the Hallmark show. I've read one book from the Sherryl Wood series and really liked it. I definitely need to read more. Same with Cedar Cove. Both the books and show are on my TBR! Have a great week!

  5. I have a hard time refusing any book or tour when it sounds like something for me. Time goes so fast, I look back and wonder where it went...until I look at all the things I have been doing. Happy reading!

  7. You have a lot of great summer reads. I enjoy Shreyl's books too and will check out the show. Thanks for the heads up. It does take time to set up blog posts for tours even when you aren't reviewing. Work, but fun too:)

  10. I can't believe that July is gone, too! The Crepes of Wrath looks like a fun cozy, and the author is Canadian! I think I will have to add that to my Canadian author challenge.

  12. I have read a couple Debbie Macomber books and really liked them. I watched Cedar Cove on Netflix (I think there's now another season), but I didn't know there were books! I might have to check out this new series!
