The Weekend Review - December 17th-19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

This has been a crazy week dealing with colds and not feeling well.  We're all doing better now.  I thought I'd be reading more since I wasn't feeling well, but I found that I couldn't concentrate on reading.  Do any of you find it more difficult to read while feeling sick?

That being said, I still managed to finish three books this week - two of them shorter books.  They were all good, but the one I'm reading now Vinyl Resting Place - I'm absolutely loving it.

I still haven't put together my 2023 reading challenges but I'll do that next week.

Criminal Minds is the only TV show I've been watching since everything else is over until next year.  This is a good thing.  I want to do more reading than anything else anyway.

I hope everyone has a great week.  I know it's a busy one with the holidays upon us.  Can you believe next Sunday will be Christmas already?

Have a great week!

  1. I'm sorry you are feeling poorly. Let's hope you are back on your feet soon.

No, I can't read when I'm sick. I even find it difficult to listen to books!

    Vinyl Resting Place looks intriguing.

  2. To Kill a Mocking Girl, sounds so familiar(wink) I am going to request To Kill a Mockingbird tickets when it comes to Twin Cities in Feb, so excited! I was in the play in HS and brings back memories.

  3. I can't believe it's Christmas next week!

Ergh we have just had cold after cold. I just can't get rid of this cough. My reading has taken a serious hit because of it. I've just been watching TV. Sometimes I can't even watch films and have been watching normal day time TV shows that are about 30 mins long.

Those books look good, especially the Kindle freebies!!

    Have a great week ahead!

  4. I was sick back in October and I did not want to do anything except sleep. I fell behind on reading because, like you, I just could not concentrate on it. I'm glad you're feeling better. :-)

  12. It is difficult to read when you are sick at least that's the way I find it. Sometimes listening to an audio works for me and a little viewing or these days a podcast. Have a very happy Christmas Yvonne.

  13. I'm almost done with Vinyl Resting Place and really enjoying it too! I have a hard time reading when I'm sick too. I can sometimes do audio books but mostly I just want to sleep or zone out. I hope you're feeling better and you have a wonderful week!

  19. Hope you're feeling better. When I'm sick I either fall asleep when I try to read or my eyes hurt too much.
