Sunday/Monday Posts - December 28th & 29th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy New Year!

The last Sunday post of 2014.  I really have a hard time believing the year is over, but it is.  Now, we're heading into a new year.

I think I'm all set with my reading challenges for 2015.  I might want to join one or two more, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm finding it very difficult to listen to Gone Girl.  I think I would enjoy it more if I read it instead of listening to it.  Not all books work for me on audio.  I might not continue with it and just wait for a chance to read it.  We'll see.

I'm looking forward to reading many great books in 2015.

I hope you all have a great New Year's - whether you are out celebrating or staying home and watching the ball drop at midnight.  I wish a great 2015 for everyone!

Yvonne

  1. Not all books work for me on audio either, but after seeing the movie...that was enough of those crazy people (Gone Girl) for me. I knew I didn't want to read the book after that. Sheesh! Hope you have a great week!

  3. I'm so picky when it comes to narration that it's hard for me to listen to many books!

Can't wait for your review of Geared For The Grave. I hope to get a copy and read it in 2015.

  4. Ooh, Murder in the Arboretum looks tempting...enjoy! And I hope you get a chance to read Gone Girl...of course, I am biased toward reading rather than listening...LOL.

Have a great new week and a Happy New Year. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  5. I can see Gone Girl not working in audio. It was a fast read but I think it'd probably be a better read. It's hard to believe that this is the last Sunday Post! It's been a fun year but crazy fast. Have a great week and a happy New Year!

  6. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I can see Gone Girl not working as an audio book. I've found that not all books work for me in audio.

Geared for the Grave and Buried In A Book look good.

    Happy reading!

  8. Some books just don't seem to do well in audio. I'm not sure if it's the narrator or something to do with the book itself - probably sometimes one, sometimes the other.

Buried in a Book looks intriguing. I hope you enjoy all your new books, and have a very happy New Year!

  9. I find really emotional and suspenseful books to be difficult in audio -- and it also depends on how much is acted vs read. Happy New Year!

  11. How funny that Geared in a Grave, Buried in a Book and In Hot Water have similarly themed covers. Are they part of a series?

  15. Very few books work for me on audio. I'm a much more a visual person and prefer to see the words. You can see my week here. Have a great week and happy new year!

  17. Hi Yvonne,

I am not a fan of audio books, always preferring to read a story for myself.

I do read the cozies from time to time, although I couldn't read them to the exclusion of all other genres. I do accept however that the cover art market for the cozy genre, has come on in leaps and bounds and your display is so colourful abd cheery on the eye.

Have a great New Year, I hope that it is a happy and peaceful one for you.
