Sunday/Monday Posts - December 7th & 8th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews

Happy Sunday and Monday!

Basically, it's been a quiet week.  Nothing exciting is happening, which is probably a good thing.

I did finally complete my Goodreads challenge of reading 100 books this year. I'm going to do it again and keep it at 100 books. I was able to complete it this year because I was unemployed for most of the year. Now that I'm working again, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do but I'm still going for 100. (Of course this doesn't mean I'm not going to read anymore books in December. LOL So, I'll be ending up a bit over my goal but not by much.)

I'm still thinking about which reading challenges to sign up with for next year. I signed up for 2, so far, in addition to the 3 I host. There's at least one more that I'll probably join, but I wouldn't put it past me to add another two or three. LOL

As I said, it's been quiet and I'm hoping to devote the rest of December to reading books I want - holiday books - and catching up on reviews. We'll see how long that lasts :) I'm even managing to catch up on TV shows but that's thanks to this time of year when many are either pre-empted or in reruns.

I just find it so amazing that we are winding down 2014...it's just going by too fast! Before you know it, we'll be welcoming in a new year.

I hope everyone has a great week and isn't going too crazy with all the holiday madness!

Yvonne

  1. Congrats on finishing your Goodreads challenge. I finished mine this week also (62 books), which was a few more than I read in 2013. Thinking about setting my 2015 goal at 100. That used to be no problem for me before I started blogging. I want to push myself closer to 100 if possible.

  2. It is hard to believe it almost New Year's- seems like we just went through the whole New Year thing. This year really did fly by. Congrats on meeting your challenge.

Nice review of A Slice of Murder, and reading it did make me want pizza. :)

  4. Congrats on finishing your Goodreads Challenge. I finished mine, too, at fewer books than I had last year (200 then, 150 this year), and I think I'll have a personal challenge, but not the Goodreads one for next year. Less pressure? LOL

I enjoyed The Good Girl...and I like the look of If Walls Could Talk.

Have a great week...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  6. Yvonne, congrats on your reading challenges! You're so much more organized than me. (I am finding it hard to make time for reading, although I did manage to read a chapter of my book early this morning, still in bed.) I look forward to your next review! Enjoy your reading. :)

  9. Congrats on reaching your GoodReads goal! I'm determined to get mine finished as well and a bit earlier than last year as I ended up finishing the last book at about 11:00PM on New Years Eve. I like the Juliet Blackwell series but wasn't aware you could get it in audio. I'll definitely have to look for the next one on my list. Have a great week!
