Synopsis from Goodreads:
Marjorie Hardaway has a troublesome new Chartreux kitten on her hands. The aptly named Houdini is a master escape artist, regularly hiding in cupboards or running outside as though he can walk straight through walls.
When a café regular, Fletcher Byrne, leaves behind a half-completed adoption form for Houdini, Marjorie is therefore eager for him to come back and finish the process. The problem is, nobody has seen or heard from Fletcher since that afternoon. The distance-learning student has disappeared into thin air!
While a major drug bust keeps the police occupied, Marjorie tries to track down Fletcher's whereabouts. With a twin brother arriving in town, the appearance of TWO girlfriends, and a sideline in criminal activities rearing its ugly head, she's soon chasing leads all over town.
But until she can locate the absent student and unravel the tangle of clues he's left in his trail, neither Marjorie nor Houdini will be able to rest.
My Review
Fletcher Byrne is a distance-learning student who frequently stops by Marjorie Hardaway’s kitten cafe. One of the kitty residents has taken a liking to Fletcher - Houdini. In fact, Fletcher is in the middle of completing adoption papers when he suddenly disappears.
Marjorie is anxious when Fletcher doesn’t show up in the cafe for a few days. Not only is she worried about losing a potential adoption, but she’s concerned about the young man. When she goes in search for him, she discovers he’s not quite the quiet guy she thought - he has a twin brother, two girlfriends and apparently he’s involved in criminal acts.
Marjorie is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. With help from Houdini and Marjorie’s new beau, she finds herself right in the middle of danger.
This series is so cute. This is the second book in the series. There aren’t any cliffhangers so you don’t really have to read them in order, but I’m glad I did with the first two books. It gives me more of an insight into Marjorie’s personality and her life.
It’s a quick, fast-paced read filled with intrigue and cats galore. As a cat lover, I can never pass up a cat series and I already adore this. From what I’ve seen there are only three books in the series, but I’m hoping there will be more. I can't help but give this kitty cozy a 5 kitty review.
I borrowed this one from the Kindle Unlimited library . All opinions expressed are my own.
That sounds like a fun read.
