It's Tuesday! It's time to share your excerpts and teasers from books we are currently reading, have read or are planning to read. So, feel free to join us by sharing the first paragraph or (a few) of a book you are reading or thinking about reading soon. This meme is guaranteed to increase your TBR :)
Please link your blog post using Mr. Linky below. Make sure the link you enter is the direct link to your Tuesday post, not the main link to your blog. Thank you!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I'm hoping to read this romantic short story soon. It's by one of my favorite cozy authors.
First Chapter
Taking the Cake
"Cate! The Uber driver is here!"
Finally!
Teaser...
Calling an Uber driver had seemed the most practical option to get the cake to the wedding on time.
Brides aren't the only ones to get the Wedding Bell Blues!
In Taking the Cake , baker Cate MacKenzie has a towering wedding cake to deliver, but no way to get to the outdoor wedding venue. Enter ride-share driver Noah Ransom, who has the van to do the job and who just happens to be Cate's ex-boyfriend. Back then, marriage and kids had been on her to-do list, but not on his...and now she learns that he'd married and had a son not long after their split. Add a protest march and traffic jam to the mix, and Cate and Noah must put aside past grievances if there's any chance of getting the cake to the wedding on time.
Melanie Lowe might not have an invite to her jerk of an ex-boyfriend's wedding, but in A Buck for Luck she's attending the reception, anyhow. She's not looking a free meal and open bar; instead, Mel is intent on ruining the happy day by pitting bride against groom. But Mel's cover is almost blown until she's rescued by fellow wedding crasher Jake Merritt. It's not Jake's first time, and he generously decides to teach her the ropes of wedding crasher etiquette. Now Mel must chose between her long-awaited chance at revenge, or taking a chance with her handsome co-conspirator.
