This week's question...
Do you ever crave reading crappy books?
My answer...
Interesting, but weird question and kind of hard to answer.
Of course it all depends on what your definition of crappy is, but, I can't say that I crave them. I've certainly read "crappy" books. I'm sure we all have, but do I crave them? No, I don't go out looking for one. I might find out when I'm reading it that I don't like it (Does that make it crappy? Someone else might love it.) I might want to read a "light" book, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's crappy.
I guess my overall answer would be, no I don't crave reading crappy books.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I guess if I felt a book was "crappy," I wouldn't read it.
ReplyDeleteIt is so difficult to define crappy...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I don't understand what is meant by crappy, do I crave crappy books? No.
ReplyDeleteI don't crave crappy books. Check out my answer for this week's
ReplyDeleteBooking Through Thursday.
Crappy or not, it is based on somebody's preference in books. Everybody has their own opinions. Head over Clandestine Sanctuary to know what I think about this question.

ReplyDeleteDo ever crave reading crappy books?
Sometimes you just want to turn your mind off and be entertained. They're like romantic comedy chick flicks.
I sometimes crave reading books that others might define as crappy but that I really enjoy - I can think of some romances that might fall into that category.
ReplyDeleteHm, sure i have read crappy books, but now I just don't care to finish bad ones
ReplyDeleteMy definition of a crappy book is a bad story that is badly written. I can't get through books like that. NOW, sometimes, I do crave books that OTHERS may consider crappy! For instance, I have a friend that won't read "those books with shiny covers." I'm not sure I've figured out what that means yet, but I guess if it has a shiny cover, she thinks it's crappy! But I might like it. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job with this question, Yvonne! Love the Lolcat!
ReplyDeleteIn a nutshell, "life is too short to crave crappy books"...IMO :)
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right, Yvonne. Crappy is really a subjective term here....
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree with Karen. When I think of crappy books, I think of a bad story that is badly written. I love my romances and would never call those crappy. They might be considered "light" reading, but I wouldn't call them crappy. Besides, some of those "light" Harlequins aren't so light. There are quite a number that have some gut wrenching stories. I think they get a bad rap :)
