The Sunday Salon/The Sunday Post - November 17th

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, just click the button above.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Happy Sunday!

I was away last week having a lovely vacation in Florida with my husband.  I had my Kindle filled with books and finished a few.  It was fun.

Now, I'm back home and taking a look at my blog and trying to decide where I want to go with them.  As I've said before, I'm already cutting back on the number of reviews and blog tours I accept.  I have no choice but to be very selective and I know many of you are in the same boat as I am.

I've also decided to be selective when choosing reading challenges.  When I first started blogging, I joined a ton of them.  No, I didn't finish them all but I got over being worried about it and just enjoy it.  Now, I'm joining a select few - some are to help me focus and complete some of my reading goals.  There are a couple I will be joining simply because I love them and have fun with them.  I'm hosting the same three that I have been hosting for the last couple of years.  The challenges I've joined so far are listed here.  There will be a couple of more coming as soon at the hosts announce them.

It's hard to believe that 2013 is almost over, but there's only a month and a half left.  That sure went fast!

I hope you all have a great week and read many great books!

Yvonne

  3. I know what you mean about book challenges. I took on too many this year and am still feeling annoyed at myself for those I haven't completed. I will join some for 2014, but will be more selective. I'm planning to sign up for your cozy challenge...

  4. I agree about the challenges...in looking at what I finished easily, and then what was a struggle...well, that helps.

I like the look of A Secondhand Murder and enjoy that author. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  5. I am selective too Yvonne. Glad you had fun on vacation and so lovely that you got to read a little too. Enjoy your week!

  6. I agree about challenges. It works best for me if I pick challenges that will interest me and that I'm likely to want to read anyway -- like Cruisin' Through the Cozies. (Thank you for hosting that, BTW.)

  8. Yay for vacations and reading! :)

I need to look at what I've signed up for for next year; I may have taken on too many. Being selective is definitely a good thing.

  9. Yvonne, I have cut back on my reading challenges and book tours. There are only so many hours in the course of a day! How nice that you had a vacation and read! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
