Teaser Tuesdays/First Chapter Tuesdays - September 30th

Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?

If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'm reading...

So this was Destiny.

I'd anticipated that the town I now cruised in my car would look like this, but even so the pictures I'd seen hadn't done it justice. It was a quaint locale, filled with a myriad of people who appeared to be tourists. They strolled along sidewalks in front of rows of stores, most of which were built in the ornate styles of California Gold rush days.

Stores with names like Knock-on-Wood Furniture and the Falling Star Gallery would have shouted this town's theme to me if I hadn't already know it.

What do you think? Would you continue reading?

  1. I can't say this series has appealed to me, but hope you enjoy(ed) it. Mine: The Phantom of the Opera

  2. Sounds like she's rolling into town- but to stay, or just to visit? Looks like a good one.

  3. Cute cover! And I like the opening, too, so yes, I would keep reading!
Today I'm featuring The Lost Tribe of Coney Island by Claire Prentiss.

  4. I'd want to read a bit more before committing. Cute cover, though.

  5. I like the sounds of this one! I'd definitely keep reading.

  6. It's not really my type of book, but the cover is so cute!

  7. I love the sound of that town...and so I do want to read more! Thanks for sharing...and here's mine: “THE CORN MAIDEN”

  8. I wouldn't mind visiting a town like that. Maybe a little luck would rub off on me. :-) Sounds like a fun read.

  9. Yes, indeed. I would read on. Like the cover too!

  10. The book's cover is delightful, and the opening paragraph made me want to know more about this town. I know I'd enjoy this book.
Here's the link to my Tuesday post: SUMMERTIME.

  11. The cover really grabbed me. Sounds good too. My TT this week: http://wp.me/pZnGI-eg

  12. I'd want to visit this town called Destiny--an enticing opening!

  13. I like in Northern California where the Gold Rush actually took place, and I have to say, I do enjoy visiting those antique stores that still have names like "Knock on Wood Furniture" Great teaser!

Here's mine: Son of No One | Sherrilyn Kenyon

  14. Nice cover , the book sounds really good.

  15. I would continue, but the cover is part of what grabbed me too. :-)
