Sunday/Monday Posts - May 15th and 16th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

The weather here is getting more beautiful each day.  It's times like this where I wish I could just sit on my deck in the backyard and read all day.  But...I can't.  Work always seems to get in the way :( However, that doesn't stop me from adding to my toppling TBR...even if the toppling is actually on my Kindle.  I'm starting to have a chance to mix in more chick lit, women's fiction and romance with my cozy mysteries.  I'm enjoying them all.  I do need to work on my current reading list a little more and get myself a bit better organized.

I'm still catching up on my TV.  My DVR has become a TV show TBR...I guess it would be TBW (to be watched)?  I've been saving my season finales to watch after I watch all the shows that are still going on so I don't get too far behind on those.  However, most shows are ending in the next couple of weeks.  It will be sad to say goodbye to Castle, which has officially been canceled, but it was going to be hard watching without Beckett.  Seems like they didn't need to fire anyone and should have just waited for ABC's final verdict.  Anyway, they have their finale on Monday.

Other than that, its been a quiet week here.

So, how was your week? Read any good books? Seen any good shows or movies? I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  2. I'm a big fan of Orphan Black and this week's episode is my favorite so far this season.

  3. I heard the actors were barely speaking on Castle but who knows what's true or not.

I need to catch up on a few Netflix series. We tackled the DVR yesterday lol

  4. We tossed cable last month so I'm sad to say we've lost track of most of our shows. Hoping they come to Netflix soon. Hope you have a great week and enjoy your new reads!

  5. I had found myself deleting more of Castle shows from the DVR than actually watching...somewhere along the line, I lost interest in the stories.

I am sad about The Good Wife being gone, though...very sad.

I think it's probably better for a show to leave while we're still "in love" with it.

Enjoy your week...and I want to read that new Mary Kay Andrews book.

  6. I am with you on sitting outside and reading... if only we didn't have to pay bills! My DVR is backed up with Outlander and Game of Thrones. I haven't had time to sit down and binge watch them... and trying to avoid spoilers from everyone posting on Facebook is hard! Happy reading!

  7. TBW! Love it... and so true. I'm awash in shows at the moment lol. Love the look of the cozies as always.

I liked The Husband's Secret too, such a great premise. And if you liked it I definitely recommend Big Little Lies. I loved that book ! She has a new one coming soon too.

  8. I like that. Your DVR is becoming like your TBR! So is mine! LOL And I did spend a lot of the weekend outdoors reading. It was fabulous. Looks like you got some fun new reads to enjoy too:)

  9. I watched Castle when it first started but stopped watching quite a while ago. It must have conflicted with something I wanted to watch more. The only thing I really watch now is The Voice. Isn't it a good thing that Kindles don't bulge when filled and even over-filled with books? Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!

  10. Ah yes I identify with the TBW! Looks like some good cozy mysteries and so happy to know making more space for all those goodies- romance, women's fiction & chick lit.

  12. My DVD is truly my TBW! Some nights I would rather read or color than watch TV. :)
