Sunday/Monday Posts - May 1st and 2nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

Welcome May!  I know I haven't been around much.  I guess life just gets in the way.  I hope to be around more now.

I've still been reading some good books mostly cozy mysteries, but I'm starting to go back to enjoying chick lit too.  There are some great books out there.  The important thing is that I'm enjoying everything I'm reading.

I'm also catching up on TV.  The current season is closing out and I'm having fun watching my favorites. I'm a bit disappointed to hear that Beckett is being written out of Castle.  I haven't really been that happy with the show lately anyway.  I've been loving Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, all three NCIS shows, Madam Secretary and I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting.  I can't believe The Good Wife is coming to an end.

I've also been trying to catch up on this year's Oscar nominated movies and enjoying those.  There are also non-Oscar nominated movies I've been liking too.

Other than that...it's the same old here.

So, how was your week?  Read any good books?  Seen any good shows or movies?

Yvonne

  1. Ooh, I want to read The Weekenders...it's been too long since I read Mary Kay.

I am sad about The Good Wife ending...I love that show! It makes Sundays so good.

I have noticed that I'm not that crazy about Castle lately either...so I guess if Beckett leaves, that will end it for me. They make a good duo. Or at least, they did. Enjoy your week!

  3. I haven't read a cozy in a while but there are some coming down the pike I'm looking forward to. Cahoon's new one looks fun as always, and the Donally one sounds fun. Hope you're enjoying The Husband's Secret. I liked it although not as much as Big Little Lies.

    Have a great week.

  6. I am really curious about Beckett leaving and how they will do that. Good Wife ending made us sad, but I think we have reached the end of the story. Have a great week!

  7. I am so far behind on NCIS, it's pitiful. I used to watch it in syndication, but then we gave up cable TV and for some reason I haven't started streaming it. Instead, I've been watching British mystery series---Poirot, currently. Before that, I watched all the Campions and all the Lord Peter Wimseys. (I should say "re-watched" on both of those, and some of the Poirot series as well. But I missed some of the Poirots when they originally aired.) And before those, it was Foyle's War. I'm not sure what I'll try next, but I do love British mysteries!

  8. I've been in a reading/blogging slump lately. I hope I get out of it soon. I've been watching a lot of tv too. I hate that some of my favorites are taking a break, but happy that other shows are coming back. I never watched the shows you mentioned other than the NCIS's.

  10. Uh oh. More cozies for my list! LOL I seem to really crave them in the summer. I think its because they are light reads and I can get through them fairly quickly while lounging outside by the pool. I've caught up on some movies and my series is wrapping up. tried some new ones but nothing is grabbing me.

  12. I'm a bit the same about Castle. I actually didn't mind it when they got together. I felt the story didn't go downhill but the underlying stories (her mother, his father, his abduction) I find really tedious.

I'm not sure Stana moving on will help!
