A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel: Cruise Ship COZY MYSTERY

Escape to the tropics! Take a cruise to Hawaii without packing your bags. From all-you-can-eat buffets to Broadway-worthy musicals, the Emerald Queen has them all. Don't miss out on friendships, romance, and mystery. All board! Take a cruise today!

If I thought the first half of my life was a bumpy ride, I’d better buckle up because I’m about to go over the hill and off the rails.

My name is Trixie Troublefield, and I see ghosts. It’s sort of a new thing, and it’s more than a problem.

While I was busy running around doing some last minute packing for my tropical anniversary cruise, my husband was busy bedding three other women—at the same time. So I did what any other sane person would do—I grabbed my suitcase and took to the high seas, alone.

Here’s the thing. I’ve never been on a plane or a cruise ship. I’ve never left the state of Maine. I’ve never been on my own. I’ve never seen ghosts before either, but that seems to be on the universe’s agenda for me, too.

I’ve got eighteen days to recalibrate, rethink my life, recharge, and eat all the food I can get my hands on. And I might look into a poltergeist pest control service while I’m at it.

Of course I’ll start a travel blog and log all of my adventures for the world to see. Why not rub all the fun I’m having in my cheating ex-husband’s face? I’ll call it Suddenly Single! What a Trip.

But no sooner do I step on board of that stately cruise ship than I stumble upon a body.

Midlife on the high seas is proving to be a real killer.

My Review

Trixie Troublefield is busy getting ready for a big anniversary cruise to Hawaii with her husband.  When she goes home to pack for the trip, she’s shocked at what she finds.  Her husband in bed with three women - at the same time!  Trixie doesn’t want to hear any lame explanations.  Instead, she takes her suitcase and goes on their anniversary cruise by herself.

It’s not the way she planned to celebrate her anniversary, but she does plan to make the best of things.  Then, she finds a dead body and the trip is quite different than she had anticipated.

This is the first book in a fun cruise ship mystery series.  I do enjoy mysteries that take place on a cruise ship. It's becoming my new favorite cozy setting.

I love how determined Trixie is to break away from her husband and enjoy life.  No matter what obstacle he throws at her along the way, she doesn’t back down.

There are new romances on her horizon on the ship.  Not to mention that she makes many good new friends (and a couple of enemies) along the way.  There’s even a ship ghost involved in the merriment.  The book is filled with humor and a good mystery, too.  I will say that there is more romance than mystery.  I usually enjoy stories with the mystery taking center stage, but I enjoyed this one.  I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I borrowed this one from the Kindle Unlimited library.  I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
