The Weekend Review - December 30th-January 1st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Here we are...the last day of 2023.  That sure went fast.  2023 wasn't the best year for me so I have high hopes for 2024.

I read four books this week.  A couple were short novellas.  At this time of year, shorter books are easier to concentrate on for me.

I did a wrap up of my reading challenges.  I missed my Goodreads challenge by 3 books.  It's the first time I didn't reach my goal but I'll be back for 2024.  I, also, did a post about my top 20 books of 2023.  It's always fun going back and reminding myself what I read throughout the year.

I think New Year's Eve will be a quiet one for us.  Sometimes it's best to just welcome in the new year with the kitties - especially with all the loud fireworks.  Hopefully I'll manage to stay up until midnight.  LOL

I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2024.

Here's my upcoming reading list through January.  As always, this list is subject to change due to my mood (and other deadlines). 😁

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Happy New Year! I'll probably have a quiet night in as well. But who knows what might happen tomorrow.

  4. New Years will be quiet for me too. I'm going to spend it reading because I need to finish the books I'm reading now to hit my Goodreads goal.

  11. It's hard to believe that 2023 is just about over. I don't think I ever got used to writing the year! 3 books off isn't too bad and you still got a bunch of great books read! I hope you have a wonderful week and a happy New Year!
