The Weekend Review - December 2nd-4th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I know I vanished for the past week, but it was for a good reason.  My husband and I went on a cruise to Key West and the Bahamas.  We had wanted to make plans for a long time but couldn't because we didn't know if I would need surgery or not.  Once I was cleared, off we went.

I love Key West.  We've been there before, but it's been a long time.  Just walking down Duvall Street with all the little shops is so much fun.  Last time we toured the town and went to Hemingway's house, but this time we skipped those things and just wandered around on our own.  The Bahamas is a bit too humid for me to walk around, but it was nice to see it and they have lovely beaches.

Naturally I had to read cozy mysteries set on cruise ships while I was gone.  LOL Since last I blogged; I finished three books.  We only have four weeks left in December and I doubt I'll make my Goodreads challenge, but I'm still trying.

This week, I hope to just rest after the trip.  A vacation from the vacation is always a necessity :) I will be trying to catch up on commenting on the blogs.

I hope you all had a great week and have a great week this week too!

  10. Your trip sounds amazing! I love Key West, too, and expect to visit sometime this winter. Haven't been to the Bahamas since the 90s, but I still remember how beautiful the beaches were. Hope you have a good week.

  13. That is the absolute best reason for disappearing! We went on our first cruise in October and I absolutely fell in love. The last time I was in Key West was New Years Eve 1999 so I think it's definitely time to go back! I hope you have a wonderful week!

  20. That's a fantastic reason to be absent. I've never been to Florida or the Caribbean, so I'm quite envious of you.

And how wonderful to get the chance to read some cozies while you are away.
