The Weekend Review - December 9th-11th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things.  I've been busier on my blog and even signed up for a few more challenges for 2024.  Of course that means I didn't read as much.  I only finished one book this week, but it was a good one.

I know I'm not going to complete all my reading challenges this year, but that's okay.  I enjoy doing them and that's really all that matters.

I started watching Game of Thrones.  I never watched it when it was originally on and I didn't think I'd like it, but I'm already hooked.  All of my regular shows start returning in January and I still have Survivor, which will be ending soon.

Not much else going on around here.  The weather has been cool in Florida.  Very nice.  I managed to get in one walk and hopefully I'll be able to do it more often before it turns too hot again.

I hope you are all having a great weekend and have a great upcoming week!

  1. I got into several conversations about GOT this week. I get a lot of comments about Tyerian when I talk about series.

  3. Glad you're getting back into the swing of things. I listened to so many audiobooks this year, so I think I'll add that to my list of challenges for next year, along with the ones I did this year. Have a great week! :)

  4. I enjoy trying the challenges, too, even if I don't complete them all. Last year I signed up for a lot of them. It think trying to do challenges made my reading more interesting.

I have not seen Game of Thrones, but I'm glad you are enjoying it.

  5. Glad you're getting back into your routine... that's always good! I've never watched Game of Thrones either because it just didn't seem like it's for me. You've got me thinking I should give it a chance sometime. Have a good week!

  6. I'm going to try to cut back on some challenges in '24. I think I'll stress less about getting a higher number finished.

  7. Some of your freebies have funny titles, I love it. It is always hard for me to imagine anywhere being hot when it is cold here. Enjoy your warm weather.

  8. You certainly have a valid excuse for not completing your challenges after having been so sick. XO

  9. Game of Thrones is one of my favorite shows ever. Except for the final season. I couldn't believe how terrible it was. But, I hope you enjoy it!

  10. The Vacation and death in Dark woods both look fun!

  11. I have a couple of friends who hated the last season or two of GOT, and I've heard in detail what didn't work a couple of times. But since they listen to rants from me at times, I can't complain. Hope you enjoy it.

I'll be dropping a couple of the challenges I took on this year, not because I didn't enjoy them, but I didn't feel like that many people were participating in them besides me. (Don't worry, you aren't the host. I'll be signing up for yours again.)

  12. Like your point that its enjoying the challenges and not necessarily getting them all to fully achieved stage.

  14. I haven't been joining challenges very much, but I might have to consider them again. Enjoy yours!

  15. I don't do challenges. I find it hard to remember to keep track and also find them restrictive. The only challenge I do is Goodreads which is hardly a challenge at all. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. It can take time to get back up to speed, but that's okay, you're well on the way.

Good luck with the rest of your challenges this year!

  17. I have Coconut Drop Dead coming up on my reading list and I'm so looking forward to it. I'm trying to get all my reading goals for 2024 figured out but it's taking some time. There's so many things I want to do. I hope you're having a great week!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
