Booking through Thursday - Recent Serious

What’s the most serious book you’ve read recently?
(I figure it’s easier than asking your most serious boook ever, because, well, it’s recent!)
I had to think about this one since I don't read many serious books, but it would have to be A Worthy Legacy by Tomi Akinyanmi. This was a beautiful book and my review of it is here It's not only a book about the author's family, but it also gives the reader some inspiration to use in your own personal lives. Excellent book.

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I don't read very many serious books either. Guess I read mainly for entertainment, so I tend to stick to things with a little humor in them.
ReplyDeleteGreat kitty picture. I love LOLcats!
Ooh when they say serious, does it mean fiction or non fiction?
ReplyDeleteGood choice! :)

ReplyDeleteI do not normally read Devastatingly serious books either, but I definitely had a recent one so this was easy this week. And non-fiction I Read often, but I never thought of Being SO SERIOUS about it, that connotates not enjoyable.. which they are to me.

It is on my TBR pile!
ReplyDeleteSeriously booking through it!
So-called "serious" reading takes up a pretty small percentage of my overall reading, too. Here's my response.
ReplyDeleteI think you're the second person I've seen mention this one.
ReplyDeleteTomi's book sounds very good!

Joy - I prefer lighter books too. I read for entertainment and that's what I like best.
ReplyDeleteVivienne - I think serious books are whatever each person decides. I really believe it's a subjective thing.
Blodeuedd - Isn't LOLcats great?
Marie - It's interesting to read what "serious" means to each individual. It seems to be different for everyone.
Anthony - Inspirational books can be really good. I don't read many, but the one I read was excellent.
Gautami Tripathy - I think you'll enjoy it.
Susan - Like Joy said, I just read for entertainment so I read very few "serious" books.
Carol and Naida - It really is a good one.
