Sunday Salon - Quiet Days of Summer

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, just click the button above.

It's been humid and stormy here. A tornado actually hit a town that's about a half hour west of me and amazingly we didn't get hit with anything more than alot of rain. It's rare for a tornado to actually hit this area, although we periodically get warnings.

Anyway, today it's sunny temps in the 80's and very very humid!

As far as my reading goes...

I didn't get too far, I did finish and host a blog tour for Bruja Brouhaha by Rochelle Staab. Great cozy mystery and check out the link in my sidebar - there are still a few hours to enter the giveaway!

I, also, finished a novella for a review, Doubtless by Cat Grant. I will hopefully have a review posted today or tomorrow.

I'm still reading On the Island, but I don't want anyone thinking I'm not liking it because I've been reading it for awhile. It's more about me being distracted with other things and just not having time to really sit down and finish it. I'm hoping to do that this week. It's the perfect beach type of read (not that I go to the beach much, but it's a good summer read).

I have two book giveaways going on. One ends tomorrow, the other on Wednesday. Check out the links in my sidebar and click the covers to enter.

I watched the movie The Three Stooges earlier in the week. I was never a big fan of the Three Stooges' comedy when I was growing up. Slapstick was never a big favorite of mine and when it comes to movies, if it's a comedy - I prefer a romantic comedy. But, my husband wanted to watch it so we did. I ended up really enjoying it. You never know what you'll like. It was funny and a nice diversion for a couple of hours.

So, how has your week been?

  1. We're in our rainy season here, so it's been raining/storming every day for quite a while. It's good for the crops and lakes, and I don't really mind, except when it rains for hours without stopping.

I've never been a fan of slapstick either. But you're right, certain movies are good no matter the genre.

I've been reading the same book for about a week, and like you, it's not that I don't like it. In fact, I'm really enjoying it. But every time I pick it up, I get really sleepy.

  2. It has been triple digits here...and when I do go out, the air is very bad, in addition to the heat. So I only run out for the store, or yesterday I did see a movie.

Some days I'm distracted, too; that didn't happen too much last week, though.

    Here's MY SUNDAY SALON POST

  3. Crazy about that tornado! It's been very humid here this past week too.
I have On The Island as well. I hope to read it soon myself. I've never liked The Three Stooges either, glad you enjoyed the movie.
I've just finished up The Hunger Ganes so hopefully my review will be up soon.
    Enjoy your Sunday.

  4. Tornado! I must confess that I am very happy that we have nothing like that here
