It's that simple.

This week I'm reading...

From 56% on my Kindle...

On the ride to Abby's, the smell of meat pies activated Rick's saliva glands.

Juggling the steering wheel and one of the cellophane bags, he managed to slide one of the hot triangles out of the bag. One bite in and he moaned in delight. On the second bite, he looked down at his shirt where two drops of grease had already landed. "Oh no," he groaned, but his clumsy attempt at cleaning it only made the stain grow larger. "Oh well," he said, and took another bite - noticing a black, ashy powder on his fingers. There was no use trying to hide the evidence.

  1. LOL Sounds like he'll be in trouble. :D I'm also guilty of eating while driving. :P

  2. Sometimes it's best to just be blatant about your behaviour rather than try to hide the evidence! Especially when delicious food is involved! I saw your other post about this one this week as well and it sounds like a real;y good book! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for sharing :) Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Definitely doesn't sound like he's going to be hiding the evidence of eating in the car! I've been intrigued by this book since you've started featuring it. It definitely sounds worth a read. Thanks for sharing!

  7. This is a great scene. The aroma of pizza or french fries or meat pies (empanadas?) can be agonizing when you're driving. I almost always have to take a taste and usually end up wearing the evidence too.

  8. I've seen this one a couple times for the 56 now. I'm always surprised it's different snippets. Each one has been great though.

    Happy weekend!
