The Weekend Review - September 29th through 30th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

The weather here goes between pleasant and raining, but the weekend seems to be on the pleasant side.  I'm not complaining :)  It's putting me in the mood to read Halloween type books.  I'm sure I have quite a few on my Kindle waiting for me.

My blog has been hopping this past week with blog tours.  Next week I only have one scheduled.  For the rest of the year I'm kind of cutting back, but we'll see how long that lasts.  LOL

The fall TV season has begun here and it has put my reading behind.  I did finish two books this week, so that's not really bad.  So many TV shows that I'm interested in, though.  I have two favorite new shows Manifest and New Amsterdam.  I'm on the fence with FBI and I wasn't too impressed with A Million Little Things.   Have any of you been watching the new shows?

Other than that, it's been a quiet week.

So, what have you all been up to?  Read or see anything good?  Hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

These books are coming up for reviews/blog tours in the next couple of months:

  1. I do a lot of blog tours myself and have considered cutting back on them. As it takes so much time just to arrange the darn things and make them fit the blog. Who knows. Like I said I am considering it. I can't wait for Outlander as to anything else...Ughh. Have a great week!

  2. I started to watch A Million Little Things, but couldn't get into it. I've enjoyed the New Amsterdam previews, so I'm going to try that one this upcoming week.

I did enjoy the reboot of Murphy Brown.

Your new books look tempting. Enjoy! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  3. My hubby and I both love those 2 new shows too. We watched Manifest twice because we liked it so much.

  4. Looks like we've been looking at some of the same cozies! I'm doing a Cozy November feature and plan to share a bunch. Weather here has been 80s and sticky. But today was a light breeze and just beautiful. Though I hear thunder in the distance and drawing nearer. And the fall shows are cutting into sme of my reading time too:)

  5. The weather here in the south of the UK, was beautiful, hot and sunny yesterday and we sat outside for an afternoon tea at the local garden centre, Today has been the exact opposite, but as we are both suffering with fever and chest infections, that has not bothered us too much, as we haven't felt at all guilty of staying indoors and relaxing. I think that autumnal, changeable weather, has definitely arrived.

My Blog Tour and author Guest Post schedule, is absolutely crazy right now and almost impossible to fit into late evening and early morning computer time, around my full time working day. I have to find a way to cut down a little, or manage things much smarter, just to keep my head above water. The problem is, I do enjoy putting the posts together, but I am sure that publishers, authors and publicists alike, have no real idea of how long it takes!

I don't read too many cozies, however you have featured one about knitting and another about a bookstore, so what's not to like about those two!

Happy Reading and have a good week :)

  9. I wasn't ever much of a TV watcher until my husband and I moved in together. He's a HUGE TV person and well, I've become addicted to his shows over the years.

A Crafter Knits a Clue was really cute, I hope you enjoy it!

  10. All the best with the cutting back on tours! Yes TV can cut into reading but I find I usually feel like one or the other and I go with that. Variety is good!

  11. I haven't watched any of the new shows but I've recorded most of them so hopefully soon! I'm wanting to read some Halloween reads too but I've got a few Christmas book commitments I have to get through first. I'm reading Trimmed to Death too! I'm liking it and I hope you are too. Have a great week!
