The Weekend Review - September 1st through 3rd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!  Welcome September!

August has come and gone faster than a blink of an eye.  Now, it's September...back to school time and we get closer to Halloween.  I'm still shaking my head at how fast the time is going.

Anyway, I've been busy on my blog with tours. I seem to have something scheduled almost everyday.  So, my participation in the weekly memes has been a little off this past week.   I've also managed to do quite a bit of reading, which is always a good thing.

I just started watching a new show on Amazon Prime that is off to a pretty good start, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan with John Krasinski.  I also "discovered" another Amazon show which isn't new and many have already liked it, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,  Two very good shows.  I'm still enjoying the Hallmark Channel mystery movies.  I'm just discovering them now so they are all new-to-me.  I think I love the Garage Sale Mysteries and Aurora Teagarden Mysteries the best.  I really want to read the books as well.

Other than that, it's been another quiet week.  How has your week been?  Read anything good?  Watch anything good?  Hope this week is great for everyone!

Next book to read...

I'm finished reading...

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

These books are coming up for reviews/blog tours in the next couple of months:

  1. I sneeked a peek of Jack Taylor not Jack Ryan. It stars Iain Glen from Game of Thrones. But it was just okay. Anyhow I hope things slow down a bit for you lol
Jackie's Forget Me Nots STS post

    1. Two different Jack shows. LOL Mine is actually a new TV show. Yours was a movie :)

      Have a great week!

  2. LOL Dying for a Donut. Happy reading with this latest batch.

    1. Aren't cozy mystery titles fun? Have a great week!

  3. I've always loved Hallmark movies. I've never seen one I didn't like. Have a great week!

  4. It seems like everyone has been participating in the weekly memes much less lately - I see so few people linking up. But I guess I was on vacation myself :) I hope they come back with the autumn!
    Have a great week :)

  5. I'm ready for some free range reading after a month of Jane Austen. I'm glad!

    Enjoy your week.

  6. Happy September! I haven't been watching much of anything lately. I am marathoning Harry Potter this weekend, though. :)

  7. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and enjoy your new books too.

  8. Ooh, Hush Now Baby caught my eye.

I really enjoy the Hallmark Mysteries...and I love the Garage Sale Mysteries the best, too, followed by Aurora Teagarden and Murder She Baked ("Sami" is in that last one, LOL). I also have read a couple of the Aurora Teagarden books and one of Murder She Baked.

I loved The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel...I hope they bring on a new season soon.

  9. I just recently won the Sofie Kelly book. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your review. I love the cover of it too. Have a wonderful week!

    Mary my #SundayRoundup #34!

  10. I’m glad you’re enjoying the shows! Sometimes I wish I had Amazon Prime or Netflix or something. I just have basic TV. Have a good week.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  11. The Haunted Library Mystery sounds intriguing! Have a wonderful week!

  12. The Cats Came Back looks good. I want to see The Miss Maisel show, but we don't have prime.

  13. I love the Hallmark Mysteries, especially Garage Sale and Aurora Teagarden. I haven't read Charlaine Harris's Aurora Teagarden books yet, but I did read the first Suzi Weinert Garage Sale Stalker. It's been awhile, but as I recall the book was darker than the movies. Oh, and there are only 3 books in that series (compared to the 15 movies).

  14. We watched the first episode of Jack Ryan....not sure we will continue. Did you like it a lot?

    1. I liked it, but haven't had a chance to watch the second episode yet.

  15. I just found some new shows too. Watching Ozark right now. Intense! Loving those cozies. I have a bunch stocked up for Halloween and Christmas.

  16. Loved Jack Ryan and Marvelous Mrs. Maziel. Have a great week of reading.
