The Weekend Review - December 22nd-24th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!  Merry Christmas!

Only one and a half weeks left to the year.  Not much time to complete all the challenges I still have, but I'm hoping to at least complete my Goodreads challenge.  I only need to read two more books.  I think I'll be able to do it if I can keep focused on my books.  I tend to get distracted at this time of year, which I think happens to alot of us.

I may still sign up for a couple more challenges.  I'm hoping they will help me keep on the right track to reading my books that have been languishing on my TBR.  Even though it's a Kindle TBR, it's a TBR with alot of books on it.

I'm still collecting Kindle freebies.  Besides cozy mysteries, I've started to get romances.  Mostly holiday ones right now.

I've been continuing to enjoy the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.  They are so cute, although I admit, very similar.  LOL  Still, they make me feel good, so why not watch?

I saw two Netflix movies this week - Dumplin' and Bird Box.  Both were excellent.

I wish everyone a very happy holiday season!

Yvonne

I've been watching lots of cheesy holiday movies too and quite enjoying them. :)

  3. I feel the same about the Hallmark Christmas movies...they are all very similar. Sometimes I start watching and realize I've seen them. But I like having them on.

I keep eyeing The Au Pair.

Have a great holiday...and enjoy all of these books. Thanks for visiting my blog.

I hope to watch Bird Box this weekend. I enjoyed Dumplin'.

  4. You've been on the holiday book track! We don't seem to read or watch that many and we aren't doing much for Christmas decorating and we are not traveling. The only part we are doing is some cooking and relaxing. And some gifts which I haven't wrapped yet. lol

I hope you fit in some reading to finish up your challenge.

Merry Christmas! Have a lovely holiday week!

  5. We're playing our ipod Christmas playlist every evening to feel suitably seasonal, but don't have tv so no Xmas movies here. Hope you enjoy your new stash of books and have a wonderful Christmas week!

  11. I love Christmas movies and have a few still to watch. Tonight I'm watching White Christmas. Love the classics! I've completed all of my reading challenges except one and I know I won't get it done. It's an alphabet one and I have four letters I won't get to. Maybe next year. LOL Have a Merry Christmas:)
